The National Police Service Act (Cap. 11a), Designation Of Police Stations

The Inspector-General of the National Police Service has officially designated the following establishments as police stations:

  • Chagaiya Police Station in Kesses Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County.
  • Olepolos-Kisamis Police Station in Kajiado West Sub-County, Kajiado County.

The designation took effect through a notice issued on 11 May 2026 by Inspector-General Douglas Kanja Kirocho.

The Constitution Of Kenya, The Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission Act (No. 9 Of 2011), The Elections Act (No. 24 Of 2011), The Election (General) Regulations, 2012 (L.N. 2012 And L.N. 2017), Directives On Handling Election Materials Wrongly Put In The Ballot Box During Elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has issued a directive allowing ballot boxes to be reopened at Constituency Tallying Centres where essential election materials have been mistakenly sealed inside. The reopening is strictly for retrieval of the materials, must be witnessed and documented, and does not permit any recount or alteration of polling station results.

The East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004, Appointment And Limits Of A Transit Shed

The Commissioner of Customs and Border Control has designated new customs-controlled areas and transit facilities for Chai Logistics Centre CFS in Nairobi, Vistari (SEZ) Limited in Eldoret, and Nxtra Africa Data (Kenya) SEZ Limited in Tatu City, Kiambu County.

The Companies Act (Cap. 486), Dissolution

Tropical Nectar Limited has been dissolved and struck off the Register of Companies under the Companies Act, effective 8th May 2026.

The Companies Act (Cap. 486), Intended Dissolution

The Registrar of Companies has issued a notice indicating the intended dissolution of approximately 333 companies and the dissolution of about 250–300 already struck-off companies, bringing the total number of companies affected to roughly 600 or more.

The Proceeds Of Crime And Anti-Money Laundering Act (Cap. 59a), Forfeiture

The High Court ordered the forfeiture of KSh 2,680,779.88, a Land Cruiser pick-up (KDC 011E), and a motorcycle (KMFB 091C) as proceeds of crime in ACEC Suit E15 of 2024, directing that they be transferred to the Assets Recovery Agency, with costs awarded against the respondents.

The Co-Operative Societies Act (Cap. 490) Appointment Of Liquidator (Variation Order)

The Commissioner for Co-operative Development has varied an earlier order and appointed CPA Isaac Omanyalla Omasete as liquidator of Trans-Kenya Women SACCO Society Limited for a period not exceeding six months, after the previous liquidator failed to complete the process.

The Labour Relations Act (Cap. 233) Amendment Of Constitution

Members of the National Union of Biomedical Engineers of Kenya (NUBEK) have been notified of proposed amendments to the Union’s constitution, with a 21-day window to submit any objections in writing, as the changes are available for review at the Registrar’s office.

The Transfer Of Businesses Act (Cap. 500), Transfer Of Business

Highland Suites Limited has transferred its serviced apartment hotel business (Highlands Suites Apartment Hotel in Kilimani, Nairobi) to Decale Jewel Hotel Limited effective 22nd May 2026, with the new owner set to continue operations at the same premises while not assuming liabilities incurred before the transfer date.

The Competition Act (Cap. 504)

The Competition Authority of Kenya approved several mergers, including the acquisition of Schenker Aktiengesellschaft by Rheinsee 1071 V V GmbH (to be renamed DSV Holding Germany GmbH), the takeover of Mammoth Foam Africa by Foamex Holdings, and the acquisition of full shareholding in De La Rue Currency and Security Print Limited by Monarch Capital Limited. In a separate notice under the Insolvency Act, Cook ‘N’ Lite Limited was placed under liquidation, with its former administrator appointed as liquidator following court approval, and creditors’ claims moved into the liquidation process.

Mental Health Act (Cap. 248), In The High Court Of Kenya At Nairobi, Appointment

The High Court of Kenya, under the Mental Health Act, appointed guardians and managers for the estates and affairs of two individuals: Rita Wabugi Gitu and Josephine Wamaitha Gitu were appointed to manage the estate of Peter Machatha Gitu, while Jane Wanjiru Wambua was appointed as legal guardian and manager of Isaiah Wambua Mutua’s estate, with interested parties given 14 days to raise any objections.

Disposal Of Uncollected Goods

Racecourse Auctioneers, Maduwande Auctioneers, Axis Auctioneers, and other appointed agents have issued notices requiring owners to collect various unclaimed motor vehicles, motorcycles, household items, and commercial goods within 30 days of publication upon payment of accrued storage and related costs. Failure to collect the items within the stipulated period will result in their disposal through public auction, tender, or private treaty, with proceeds used to offset all outstanding charges without further reference to the owners.
