The Governor of Machakos has also constituted the County Rural and Urban Affordable Housing Committee, appointing Joseph Mutua Ngayai (Chairperson), Mirriam Ndunge Maweu, Peris Njeri Weru, and Mohammed Ismail Abdi as members. The committee will serve a three-year term, with eligibility for re-appointment for a final term of equal duration. |

| The Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act (No. 8 of 1999),Impact Assessment Study Report
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report from Mara Groove Limited for the proposed development of residential apartments on Plot L.R. No. 7149/210, off the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway in Syokimau, Machakos County.The project entails the construction of five residential blocks comprising 502 housing units (130 one-bedroom, 156 two-bedroom, and 216 three-bedroom), together with 13 shops, a gym, parking spaces, a power distribution room, a water pump room, and associated amenities.NEMA invites public comments on the proposed development in line with section 59 of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act. |

| Marsabit | The National Police Service Act (No. 11A of 2011),Prohibition of Possession of Arms
The Inspector-General of the National Police Service, exercising powers under section 106(2)(a) of the Act, has prohibited the possession of arms in several areas of Marsabit County declared disturbed and dangerous by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration. Residents of the listed localities—including Hillo Gorgora, Hillo Orofa, Hillo Walkite, Hillo Tanzania, Hillo Irress Abamartille, Hillo Gootu, Hillo Tessum Qalicha, Hillo Karray, Hillo Hudda, Hillo Qoranjido, Hillo Irress Shindia, Hillo Rabaalee, and Hillo Godde Haroressa—are ordered to surrender arms immediately to the nearest police or administration offices. The arms will be returned to their owners once the notice is revoked or terminated. The prohibition took effect on 11th September 2025. |

| Muranga | The Land Act (Cap. 280)
The National Land Commission has reserved and vested the care, control, and management of land parcel Makuyu/Kimorori/Block 1/5616 in Murang’a County, measuring approximately 0.4047 hectares, to the Judicial Service Commission. The land is designated for judiciary and ancillary services only and is subject to several conditions, including preparation of a development and environmental plan within 180 days, adherence to planning and conservation laws, maintaining at least 10% tree cover, adopting climate-smart technologies, and ensuring coordination with other public agencies for optimal land use. |

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report from the Ministry of Defence for the proposed design and construction of social amenities in support of protection, restoration, rehabilitation and beautification works within the Nairobi Rivers Basin, Nairobi City County.Key components include pedestrian walkways and cycle lanes with security lighting, a 60km trunk sewer line along both banks of the river, expansion of the Kariobangi sewage treatment plant by 60,000m³ per day, construction of pedestrian bridges, river dredging and bank stabilization, and modern landscaping to enhance the urban environment.NEMA invites public comments on the project in accordance with section 59 of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit Regulations, 2003. |

The Governor of Kericho, Erick K. Mutai (Dr.), has established the Kericho County Audit Committee.The committee members are Joseph Ndiku Muthama (Chairperson), Betty Chemutai Munai Chepkwony, Isaac Ruto Kiprono, James Sambu Kugo, Fernandes Korir (County Treasury Representative), and Turgut Gilbert (Secretary). They will serve a three-year term effective 3rd July 2025. |

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report from the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for the proposed multi-storey housing development on Plot No. Kisumu/Municipality/Block 8/258 in Milimani, Kisumu City County.The project entails the construction of 162 residential units (108 two-bedroom with DSQ and 54 three-bedroom with DSQ), together with a boundary wall with electric fence, back-up power generator, rooftop rest zone, clubhouse, kids play area, swimming pool, indoor gym, pilates and yoga centre, jogging track, and related amenities.NEMA invites public comments on the proposed development pursuant to section 59 of the Act. |
