Award of Orders, Decorations, and Medals

  • H.E William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces has accorded The First Class: Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H.) to His Highness Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V and The Second Class: Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.) to Princess Zahra Aga Khan.

 

The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Act – Appointment

  • Hon Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has appointed Victor Owuor Radidi to be a member of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th March, 2025.
  • The Cabinet Secretary has similarly appointed several persons to be analysts for purposes of the Act, with effect from the 25th January

 

The Insurance Act – Re-Appointment

  • John Mbadi, Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning has re-appointed Mercy W. Kiana to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Regulatory Authority, for three (3) years, with effect from the 7th March 2025.

 

The Accountants Act – Appointment

  • John Mbadi, Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning revokes the appointment of Stephen O. Ogenga (Eng.) as a Member of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board, with effect from the 7th March 2025. 

 

The State Corporations Act – Appointment

  • Opiyo Wandayi, Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum has appointed Martha Wanjiru Miano to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th March 2025. The appointment of Jane Njeri Mwangi is revoked.

 

The Kenya Ports Authority Act – Appointment

  •  Davis Chirchir, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport appointed  Wilson Mwai to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th of March, 2025. The appointment of Caroline Njoki Maina is revoked.

 

The Micro and Small Enterprises Act – Appointment

  • Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development appointed John Wambugu Kihonge to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Micro and Small Enterprise Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 7th March, 2025. The appointment of Martha Wanjiru Miano is revoked.

 

The Land Act – Appointment

  • Alice Wahome Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, appointed Ruth Okal as a member of the Land Acquisition Tribunal.

 

The Community Land Act 

  • Alice Wahome Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development in consultation with the County Governments of Turkana and Garissa have developed the Adjudication Programme for the several communities within the counties.

 

The Central Bank of Kenya Act

  • The 55th Monetary Policy Statement has been issued and circulated. These documents are freely available on the Central Bank of Kenya website at www.centralbank.go.ke.

 

The East African Community Customs Management Act 

  • The East African Community Customs Management Act, 2004, the Commissioner of Customs and Border Control appointed Red Lands Roses SEZ PLC located in Tatu Estate, Ruiru Kenya as a Customs Area.

 

Public Service Commisssion

  • Six Hundred and Seventy Three (673) Candidates passed the Proficiency Examination For Clerical Officers’ Held from 23rd to 26th September 2024

 

The National Intelligence Service Act

  • The Public Service Commission has extended the term of the Technical Committee to Recommend the Terms and Conditions of Service for Officers and Staff of the National Intelligence and Research University appointed vide Gazette Notice No. 16313 of 2024, to the 30th April 2025, with effect from the 16th March 2025.
  • Carol Chepngeno Sigei has been appointed by the Public Service Commission as Joint Secretary of the Technical Committee to Recommend the Terms and Conditions of Service for Officers and Other Staff of the National Intelligence and Research University, with effect from the 3rd March 2025. The appointment of Judy Bliss Thuguri is revoked.

 

The Energy Act

  • The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority revokes Gazette Notice No. 910 of 2020 of the Olkaria-Kedong Special Economic Zone Tariff in Naivasha effective 7th March 2025.
  • The Authority gazettes Customer Voltage Connection at 132Kv and above as an addendum to the tariff category for Method C17 for Special Economic Zone Tariff contained in Vol. CXXV-No. 73, Gazette Notice No. 3899 of 2023. 

 

The Constitution of Kenya

  • Renson Ingonga, the Director of Public Prosecutions delegates the powers conferred by Article 157 (4) and (6) of the Constitution to several persons.

 

The Political Parties Act

  • Ann Nderitu, the Registrar of Political Parties gave notice that the National Transformation Party (NTP) has applied for provisional registration under section 6 of the Act. Any person with written submissions concerning the registration of the above political party shall within seven (7) days from 7th March 2025 deposit them with the Registrar of Political Parties.
