The Capital Markets Act (Cap. 485A), Capital Markets Authority, Re-Appointment 

The President has re-appointed Ugas S. Mohamed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Capital Markets Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 24th February 2026. 

 

The Investment Promotion Act (No. 6 of 2004), Kenya Investment Authority, Re-Appointment 

The President has re-appointed Sally Njambi Mahihu as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Kenya Investment Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026.

The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning has re-appointed Natasha Awuor AduwoElena Natalia PellegriniMeshack Moses KipronoGibson Kimani Maina, and Prof. Michael Bowen as Members of the Board of the Capital Markets Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 24th February 2026. 

 

The Public Finance Management Act (No. 18 of 2012), National Government Affirmative Action Fund, Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture and Children Services has appointed Rebecca Ghati Maroa as a Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026. 

 

The Sacco Societies Act (No. 14 of 2008), Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority, Re-Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and MSME Development has re-appointed Jack Ranguma as a Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026. 

 

The Dairy Industry Act (Cap. 336), Kenya Dairy Board, Re-Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development has re-appointed Genesio Mugo as Non-Executive Chairperson, alongside Abraham Kiplel RugutMercy Karimi MbogoMike KorossFatuma Abdi HajiJosephine Moraa OmanwaBeth Wangare Mbuthia, and Kenneth Pkemoi Lomaibong as Members of the Kenya Dairy Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026. 

 

The Dairy Industry Act (Cap. 336), Kenya Dairy Board, Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development has appointed Makarios Munanga Makwata as a Member of the Kenya Dairy Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026. 

 

The Tourism Act (No. 28 of 2011), Tourism Fund, Re-Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife has re-appointed Zippie Metto as a Member of the Tourism Fund, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 13th February 2026. 

 

The Statutory Instruments Act (Cap. 2A), Proposed Social Protection (General) Regulations, 2025 – Regulatory Impact Statement 

The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection has published a Regulatory Impact Statement on the proposed Social Protection (General) Regulations, 2025, outlining eligibility criteria, application procedures, administration of benefits, and maintenance of the social protection registry. The public has been invited to submit comments within fourteen (14) days of the notice. 

 

The Mining Act (Cap. 306), Mining Licence Application 

The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs has notified receipt of a mining licence application from Tata Chemicals Magadi Limited. The application is open for public comments and objections for forty-two (42) days from the date of the notice. 

 

The Kenya School of Law Act (No. 26 of 2012),Kenya School of Law, Appointment 

The Attorney-General has appointed Prof. Mary Akinyi Otieno as Member and Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Kenya School of Law for a period of four (4) years, effective 13th February 2026. 

 

The Constitution of Kenya & High Court (Organization and Administration) Act, 2015
High Court of Kenya – Easter Recess 2026 

The Easter Recess for the High Court and Courts of Equal Status will run from 25th March 2026 to 8th April 2026 (inclusive). Recess duty judges will be designated to handle urgent matters during this period, while court registries will remain operational on weekdays from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., excluding public holidays. 

 

Electricity Tariff Adjustments – February 2026, Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority 

The authority has announced tariff-related adjustments under the 2023 Schedule of Tariffs: 

  • Fuel Energy Cost Charge: Increase of 310 Kenya cents per kWh for electricity meter readings taken in February 2026. 
  • Water Resource Management Authority Levy: Additional 1.21 cents per kWh applicable to electricity charges for February 2026. 

 

Auction of Overstayed Goods, Kenya Revenue Authority 

Kenya Revenue Authority has  scheduled as follows: Goods at Kisumu Customs Station – Auction dates: 23rd–27th March 2026,Goods at Inland Container Depot Nairobi – Auction dates: 16th–20th March 2026 and  Goods at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Forodha warehouse) – Auction dates: 23rd–27th March 2026.Viewing of goods is allowed on specified dates during office hours. 

 

Preservation Orders in Asset Recovery Case, Assets Recovery Agency and Stanbic Bank Limited 

The High Court issued preservation orders restricting sale or transfer of motor vehicle KDN 555V (Toyota Prado) registered to Winslee Co. Ltd. The vehicle and logbook must be surrendered within seven days, failing which seizure may occur. The National Transport and Safety Authority must place a caveat on the vehicle records. 

 

Unclaimed Financial Assets Claims, Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority 

The Authority received claims for assets belonging to deceased persons and lost insurance policies issued by companies including NCBA GroupCo-operative Bank of KenyaBritam Life Assurance Company Kenya LimitedLiberty Life Assurance (K) Limited, and Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Limited. Payments will proceed if no objections are raised within 30 days. 

 

Regulatory and Administrative Appointments and Changes 

  • Extension of liquidation period for Mukenia Farmers Co-operative Society for six months. 
  • Proposed renaming of Rift Valley Railways Workers Union (K) to Meter and Standard Gauge Railways Workers and Pensioners Union (K), subject to public objection within 21 days. 
  • Appointment of inspectors by Kenya Sugar Board effective 1 February 2026. 

 

Closure of Private Roads by DWA Estate Limited, DWA Estate Limited 

DWA Estate Limited has announced the closure of private roads and footpaths on properties L.R. Nos. 917/4, 3685, and 11070 for 24 hours, starting midnight on 7 March 2026. 

 

Proposed Amendment of Trade Union Constitution, Rift Valley Railways Workers Union (K) 

The union has applied to amend its constitution. Members, other unions, and the public may submit objections to the Registrar of Trade Unions within 21 days of the notice.
