The Kenya School of Government Act – Re-Appointment

  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appointed Charles Nyachae to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya School of Government Council, for three (3) years, with effect from 13th July, 2025

 

The Pest Control Products Act – Appointment

  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointed Ali Noor Ismail to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Pest Control Products Board for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025

 

The Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute Order

  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointed Abdi Mude Ibrahim to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute, for (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The Judicature Act

  • Chief Justice Martha Koome, on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed Dominica Nyambu and Green Odera to be Admiralty Marshals, with effect from the 14th July, 2025. The appointment of Christine Ogweno is revoked.

 

Supreme Court of Kenya – August Recess

  • The Supreme Court August recess will commence on Friday, 1st August, 2025 and terminate on Monday, 15th September, 2025, both days inclusive. The duty Judge will be available during recess to deal with urgent matters. During this period, the Supreme Court Registry shall be open to the public from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all weekdays other than public holidays.

 

The National Police Service Act – Extension of the Declaration of Parts of Marsabit Country as Security Disturbed and Dangerous

  • Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, in consultation with the National Security Council, extended the declaration made on 10th June, 2025, declaring several parts of Marsabit County as security-disturbed and dangerous

 

The Kenya School of Government Act – Re-Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku, reappointed Linnet Mirehane to be a Member of the Kenya School of Government Council, for three (3) years, with effect from the 13th July, 2025.
  • He similarly appointed Leonida Chelagat Mitei and Francis Owino (Dr.) to be Members of the Kenya School of Government Council, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025. 

 

The Digital Health Act – Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Health, Aden Duale, appointed Pauline Nyokabi to be a Member of the Digital Health Agency, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025. The appointment of Linda Murugi Gebson is revoked.

 

Kenya Ports Authority Act – Re-Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary Roads and Transport, Davis Chirchir, re-appointed Iltasayon Neepe to be a Member of the Board of the Kenya Airports Authority, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The National Social Security Fund Act – Re-Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Hon. Alfred Mutua,  re-appointed Rose Auma Omamo to be a Member of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The Water Act – Re-Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Eric Muriithi Muuga, made the following appointments;
  • Regina Ndambuki to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tanathi Water Works Development Agency, established vide Legal Notice No. 28 of 2019, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.
  • Geoffrey Rukuja, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of Tana Water Works Development Agency, established vide Legal Notice No. 28 of 26th April, 2019, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.
  • Nasri Sahal Ibrahim, to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Northern Water Works Development Agency, established vide Legal Notice No. 28 of 26th April, 2019, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The State Corporations Act – Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Hon. James Opiyo Wandayi, appointed Carren Akinyi Olweny, Abdisalan Adow Abdi, to be Members of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency, for three (3) years. with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The Science, Technology, and Innovation Act – Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation appointed  Ibrahim Malow Noor to be a Member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, for three (3) years, with effect from the 11th July, 2025.

 

The National Museums and Heritage Act – Re-Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture and Children Services re-appointed  Edwin Abonyo to be the Chairperson of the National Museums of Kenya Board, for three (3) years, with effect from the 13th July, 2025. 

 

The Export Processing Zones Act – Appointment

  • Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Lee Kinyanjui, appointed Hamza Alio Abdi to be a Member of the Export Processing Zones Authority Board, for three (3) years, with effect from the 13th July, 2025.

 

The National Police Service Act – Prohibition of Possession of Arms in Parts of Marsabit County Declared Security Disturbed and Dangerous

  • Inspector-General of National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, prohibits the possession of arms in several parts of Marsabit County, declared as security-disturbed and dangerous by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration.

 

Kenya Information and Communications Act – Application for Licences

  • Several entities have made applications to the Communications Authority of Kenya for the grant of various license categories.

 

The Energy Act – Fuel Energy Cost Charge

  • In July 2025, all electricity bills in Kenya will include a Fuel Energy Cost Charge of 302 cents (KSh 3.02) per kWh, as set by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) under the 2023 Tariff Schedule. This charge is added to the electricity prices to reflect the cost of fuel used in power generation.
  • In July 2025, electricity bills in Kenya will include a Foreign Exchange Fluctuation Adjustment of 177.42 cents (KSh 1.7742) per kWh, as set by EPRA under the 2023 Tariff Schedule. This charge reflects the impact of currency exchange rate changes on the cost of power supply.
  • In July 2025, electricity bills in Kenya will include a Water Resource Management Authority (WRMA) Levy of 1.40 cents (KSh 0.014) per kWh, as outlined in the 2023 Tariff Schedule by EPRA. This charge supports water resource management, particularly for energy from large hydropower plants (≥1MW).
  • From July to December 2025, electricity bills in Kenya will include an Inflation Adjustment of 44 cents (KSh 0.44) per kWh, as per EPRA’s 2023 Tariff Schedule. This charge accounts for inflation-related cost changes in power supply.

 

The National Intelligence Service Act – Appointment

  • The Public Service Commission has appointed a Technical Committee comprising several members to recommend the Terms and Conditions of Service for officers and other staff of the National Intelligence and Research University.

 

The Political Parties Act 

  • The Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that the following political parties have applied for provisional registration under Section 6 of the Act.
  • The Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that the People’s Party of Kenya intends to change its party location and address from Arcade House, 2nd Floor, Moi Avenue, Nairobi to Witeithie House, 4th Floor, Room 413, Thika.
