The Kenya Institute For Public Policy Research And Analysis Act, Appointment 

The President appointed Prof. Paul Wachana as the Chairperson of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research  and Analysis (KIPPRA), for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 18th October, 2024

 

Employment and Labour Relations Court Act, Appointment

Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Sheila Ondiso Obiayo and Omwanza Ombati as members of the Employment and Labour Relations Committee for a period of five years. The notice also revoked the appointments of Macharia Njeru and Yvonne Adhaimbo Obonyo.

 

The National Electronic Single Window System Act, Re-Appointment 

The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning re-appointed Florence Chemtai to the Kenya Trade Network Agency Board for three years.

 

The Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning re-appointed Lorian Mona Okongo as a member of the Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Board for a period of three years, effective 18th October 2024.

 

The Water Act, Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation appointed Irene Njoki Maina as a member of the Tana Water Works Development Agency for a period of three years, effective 4th October 2024. The appointment of Pauline Wanjira Maina was revoked.

 

The Ewaso Ngiro North Development Authority, Re-Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development re-appointed Stephen Lekupe as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ewaso Ngiro North Development Authority for a period of two years, effective 18th October 2024.

 

The Animal Genetics Resource Centre, Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development appointed Elijah Karitu Nguyo as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Animal Genetics Resource Centre for a period of three years, effective 18th October 2024.

 

The Land Registration Act: Provisional Certificates of Title, Replacement of Titles, and Issue of New Land Title Deeds

The Registrar of Titles in various counties issued notices that provisional certificates, replacement titles, and new land title deeds ,will be issued to various individuals after 60 days if no objections are raised.

 

The National Treasury and Economic Planning – Statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues

The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning issued a Statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues for various state offices as of 30th September 2024.

 

The Seeds and Plant Varieties Act: Grant of Plant Breeders’ Rights, Notification of Applications for Grant of Plant Breeders’ Rights

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development issued a notification regarding the grant of Plant Breeders’ Rights specified in the schedule and on applications for the grant of Plant Breeders’ Rights for eighty-four plant varieties. Interested parties, including breeders and individuals with substantial interests, may submit representations within sixty days by providing the relevant documentation

 

The Crops Act, Proposed Grant of Licence

The Agriculture and Food Authority intends to grant licenses for coffee exports, imports, and value addition (roasting and packaging) to various applicants across Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kiambu counties. Interested parties can submit objections in writing to the Authority within fourteen days of this notice. The licenses will be issued to compliant applicants by 30th October 2024.

 

The Films and Stage Plays Act, Film Classification Guidelines 2024

The Kenya Film and Classification Board has prescribed new guidelines for film classification, revoking the previous Gazette Notice No. 9588 of 2nd August 2024. The guidelines include definitions of key terms and principles for classification, such as theme, context, intensity, frequency, tone, impact, and release format.

 

Human Resource Management Professionals Act, Certified Human Resource Professional Examinations

708 candidates have successfully met the requirements to be awarded the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP-K) Certificate after passing the Certified Human Resource Professional Examinations for October 2024.

 

The Companies Act: Restoration of Companies, Intended Dissolution, Petition for Liquidation

The Registrar of Companies has restored various  companies to the Register of Companies, announced that the names of specified companies will be struck off the Register of Companies and a petition for the liquidation of MC Builder Limited was presented to the High Court.
