National Steering Committee on Police, Prisons, and Youth– Reforms

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has appointed a National Steering Committee to oversee the implementation of reforms in the National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, and National Youth Service. The committee will coordinate, supervise, and provide technical guidance for the reforms over the next three years.

 

Public Finance Management Act – Appointment

Martha Opisa has been appointed to the Sports, Arts, and Social Development Fund Oversight Board for a period of three years, starting 13th September 2024.Four members:Stephen Ngowa Masha,Rispher Olick,Edwin Nyaga Njamura and John Githinji Njoka, have been appointed to the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board for a term of three years.

 

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET Act) Appointment

Elisha Biwott has been appointed as a member of the Council of the Eldoret National Polytechnic for three years, effective from 13th September 2024.

 

National Syndemic Diseases Control Council – Appointment

Lucy Wanjiku Njenga has been appointed by the Cabinet Secretary for Health as a member of the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council for a three-year term, effective from 13th September 2024.

 

Mining Act,Bomet County Artisanal Mining Committee – Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, has appointed new members to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Bomet County for a three-year term, effective 13th September 2024. The appointees include: Benard Tonui (Dr.),Mourice Amalemba,Samuel Kipkemoi Yapai,Weldon Kipng’eno Tonui,Lawi Cheruiyot,Sylvanus Too,Samuel Ngaanga and Biliah Chepkirui.

 

Mining Act,Nakuru County Artisanal Mining Committee – Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs has appointed members to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Nakuru County for a three-year term, effective 13th September 2024. The appointees are:Kennedy Mungai,Mourice Amalemba,Jane Njeri Ng’ang’a,George Gitau Kimani,Simon Saitoti Lekoora,Sylvanus Too,Joseph M. Kopejo and Wycliffe Chepkwony.

 

Mining Act,Nandi County Artisanal Mining Committee – Appointment

New members have been appointed to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Nandi County for a period of three years, starting 13th September 2024. The appointees include:Mathew Kiptum Keter,Gideon Kiptoo Melli,Eliud Biwott,Shadrack Kipkoech Melilei,Felix Kipkemei Ng’etich,Sylvanus Too,Sally Kiboss and Simon Rotich.

 

Mining Act,Tanathi Water Works Development Agency – Appointment

Robert Muoria Sungura and David Kapaito Kitashu have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency for a three-year term, effective 13th September 2024.

 

County Governments Act ,Machakos County Public Service Board – Appointment

Juliana Ndunge Mutisya has been appointed as the Secretary to the Machakos County Public Service Board by Governor Wavinya Ndeti, following approval by the Machakos County Assembly on 3rd September 2024. 

 

Urban Areas and Cities Act, 2011,Machakos County – Transfer of Functions

Several county functions, such as solid waste management, urban roads maintenance, and stormwater control, have been transferred to Mavoko Municipality.

 

The Land Registration Act,Provisional Certificates

Multiple provisional land title certificates have been issued across regions, including Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kilifi, following the loss of original titles. The new certificates will be issued after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.

Multiple replacement land title deeds have been issued for properties in various counties, including Nakuru, Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma,Makueni and Busia, due to the loss of original deeds. The new title deeds will be issued after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.

Several new land title deeds are set to be issued across various districts and counties following the loss of the original titles. The affected areas include:Luanda Sub-county,Nyeri District,Murang’a District,Kirinyaga County,Gatundu District,Kiambu County.Thika District,navisaha district,Ruiru district,Nyandarua/Samburu counties,Mbeere North District,Meru Central District.All notices are dated 13th September 2024.

The Land Registration Act, Reconstruction of Lost or Destroyed Land Register

Multiple reconstruction notices have been issued for properties in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, and Mavoko due to the loss of original land registers. The new register entries will be established after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.

Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) Chairperson Appointment

The Selection Panel is inviting applications for the Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) under Article 230 (1) and (2)(a) of the Constitution and Section 4 (1) and (3) of the SRC Act, 2011. The Chairperson must have a degree from a recognized university, at least ten years of relevant experience, and meet Chapter Six of the Constitution requirements. Applications are due by Monday, 23rd September 2024.

Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) Chairperson and Members Appointment

The Selection Panel is seeking applications for the Chairperson and two Members of the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) as per Section 11 (4) of the CAJ Act. The Chairperson should have at least fifteen years of relevant experience, while Members need ten years of experience in specified fields. All applications must be submitted by Monday, 23rd September 2024.

National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) Chairperson and Member Appointment

The Selection Panel is inviting applications for the Chairperson and one Member of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) under Section 11 (4) of the NGEC Act. The Chairperson must have at least fifteen years of experience in human rights and gender, while the Member should have ten years of experience in relevant fields. Applications are due by Wednesday, 25th September 2024.

Unclaimed Financial Assets Act, Notice of Objection

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority has issued a notice regarding claims for unclaimed assets received from various individuals acting as administrators of deceased estates or agents for original owners. If no objections are filed within 30 days from the publication date of this notice, the assets will be paid to the claimants listed. Claims involve various financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, and investment groups.

Kenya Deposit Insurance Act,List of Insured Institutions

As of 30th June 2025, the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) insures deposits of various financial institutions, including major commercial banks, mortgage finance institutions, and microfinance banks.

 

Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act,Preservation Orders

The High Court has issued preservation orders prohibiting Antony Mwenda Muturia (Antoren Investment) and Ezira Mwende Nyamu (Lauryka Enterprises) from accessing specific bank accounts for 90 days, pending further court proceedings. Disobedience of this order may result in contempt charges and imprisonment.

The Companies Act —Dissolution Notices

Several companies have been dissolved and will be removed from the Register of Companies as of the publication date. These companies will be officially struck off the Register after a period of three months, unless objections or reasons are submitted against their dissolution during this time.

Co-operative Societies Act — Extension of Inquiry Period

The inquiry into Kikima Farmers C.S. Limited has been extended by five days from 16th September 2024.

Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act — EIA Report

The National Environment Management Authority invites public comments on the EIA report for the expansion of Victory Farms Tilapia Fish Cage System. Comments are due within thirty days from the publication of this notice.

Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) —Auction Notice

Uncollected goods listed will be auctioned if not collected within thirty days. Owners must pay all storage and additional costs to retrieve their goods.
