The Land Act, Expansion of Malindi Airport
The National Land Commission, on behalf of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), has regazetted the intention to acquire multiple parcels of land for the expansion of Malindi Airport. Affected landowners and interested parties are required to submit claims for compensation before the scheduled inquiry dates.

Competition Authority Approvals
The merger between Engie Afrique and Ignite Power has been approved, allowing the acquisition to proceed. Similarly, Metal Cans and Closures Kenya Limited has received approval to acquire the assets of Nampak Kenya Limited. Additionally, Eurazo SE has been granted approval to acquire Bioline Agrosciences Africa and Dudutech Properties.

The Insolvency Act
- Final Creditors’ Meeting: A virtual final general meeting of creditors for Zeelandia East Africa (In-Liquidation) will be held on 13th March 2025 at 11:00 a.m. EAT to review the liquidation process and accounts. Joint Liquidators: George Weru & Muniu Thothi.
- Appointment of Liquidator:The High Court of Kenya (Commercial & Tax Division) has appointed KVSK Sastry as the liquidator of Reelforge Systems Ltd (Insolvency Cause No. E37 of 2023). Creditors must submit proof of debt by 3rd March 2025. A creditors’ meeting is scheduled for 7th March 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Centre Point, Parklands Road, Nairobi.
The Transfer of Businesses Act, Business Transfer
Groupaco Holdings Ltd is transferring its breakfast cereals and snacks processing business to Bidco Africa Ltd under a Business & Asset Transfer Agreement dated 19th February 2025.The transfer is subject to conditions precedent, and all liabilities before the transfer remain with Groupaco Holdings.If conditions are unmet, the transfer notice is void.

The Land Registration Act, Replacement Titles
Multiple replacement land title deeds were issued due to loss of original deeds, including properties in Nairobi, Kitui, Mbeere, Nyandarua, Kajiado, and Kwale. The new title deeds will be issued after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.
