Request for proposals on the Budget Statement FY 2021/2022
The Kenya National Treasury has invited members of the public to contribute to the final Budget Statement for the FY 2021/2022 which will be delivered in Parliament on 10th June, 2021. In this respect, the public is invited to share their proposals via email at: budgetstatement@treasury.go.ke with a copy to budgetstatement@gmail.com on or before 26th May, 2021. The proposals should be centred on the following broad areas:
- Measure to address current challenges facing businesses and stimulate their recovery;
- Policy options on which to lay the foundation for sustainable and resilient post Covid-19 economic recovery and return Kenya’s economy to a steady and sustainable growth trajectory;
- Ways to protect lives and livelihoods and generate more employment opportunities for Kenyans;
- Specific measures to cushion vulnerable citizens against the adverse effects of Covid-19 Pandemic;
- Tips on how to accelerate implementation of Government priority programmes under the Bug Four Agenda to support livelihoods and economic recovery;
- Specific ways to support recovery and growth of the private sector and MSMEs;
- Tips of how to foster a secure and conducive business environment to promote investment growth, businesses recovery and jobs creation;
- How to integrate the youth and women into supporting sustainable economic recovery;
- Ways to enhance revenue mobilization, prudently manage public resources and effectively deal with corruption; and
- Any other tips or suggestions.
Oxygene MCL via the Vellum team will be making its submissions on the 25th of May, 2021 with particular reference to creating a predictive tax environment.
