Neddy Jeruto Kiptoo, ACA Board Member
Neddy Jeruto Kiptoo was re-appointed to the Board of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) on 2 October 2026 for a further three-year term. The appointment extends her role in overseeing the national agency responsible for protecting consumers, legitimate businesses and intellectual property rights.
Kiptoo was first appointed to the ACA Board in September 2023 for a three-year term. During her first tenure, she held senior committee responsibilities, including chairing the Finance, Human Resource and General-Purpose Committee, and later serving as Chair of the Board’s Audit Committee. Her responsibilities included oversight of the Authority’s finances, human-resource and procurement matters, and participation in anti-counterfeit enforcement and stakeholder engagements.
Her reappointment provides continuity in board oversight as Kenya strengthens intellectual-property and anti-counterfeit enforcement and considers broader reforms to its intellectual-property institutional framework. It also marks a progression in her public-sector career from county-level legislative and financial oversight to national institutional governance.
Before joining the ACA Board, Kiptoo served as a Member of the Elgeyo-Marakwet County Assembly from 2013 to 2022. During her tenure, she helped oversee public expenditure and investments and served as Vice-Chair of the Economic and Finance Committee. Her work also included community initiatives focused on women and youth empowerment and campaigns addressing issues including early marriage, teenage pregnancies and drug abuse.
Kiptoo holds a Bachelor of Education (Arts) from the University of Nairobi and a Primary Teacher Education Certificate from Eregi Teachers’ College.
