JUDICIARY 

  • President of the Court of Appeal, Daniel Musinga, has gazetted notice that the Court’s August recess shall commence on Monday, 1st August, 2022 , and shall terminate on Thursday, 15th September, 2022, both days inclusive. 

PUBLIC SECTOR

Appointment

  • The Cabinet Secretary for Defence and Chairperson of the Defence Council, Eugene Wamalwa has appointed Major General Joseph Mutui Kivunzi to be a member of the Defence Forces Pensions Appeals Committee, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 1st July, 2022. The appointment of Maj ,Gen. (Rtd) A M. Ikenya* is revoked with effect from 1st July, 2022.
  • Solicitor General and Chairperson, Witness Protection Advisory Board, Kennedy Ogeto has appointed Jedidah Wakonyo Waruhiu to be the Director of the Witness Protection Agency, for a period of five (5) years, with effect from the 13th January, 2022 . 

AGRICULTURE SECTOR

  • The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives, Peter Munya, has suspended the payment of fees and levies charged on imported maize grain pursuant to paragraph (a) of Part 4 of the Third Schedule of the Crops (Food Crops) Regulations 2019, for a period of ninety (90) days, with effect from 1st July , 2022.
  • The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives, Peter Munya, has suspended the fees and charges payable in respect of maize grain pursuant to the Plant Protection (Fees and Charges) Regulations for a period of ninety (90) days, with effect from the 1st July, 2022.

TRADE SECTOR

  • The Chief Manager of Nairobi Customs Station has gazetted a list of goods that need to be removed from the customs warehouse JKIA within thirty (30) days from the 1st July 2022 or they will be sold by public auction on the 3rd August, 2022. Interested buyers may view the goods at the Warehouse.J.K.I.A on 28th July, 2022 and 29th July, 2022, during office hours.

Enviromental Impact Assessment

  • Dr. Nelson Muraya Wachira and Agnes Mwonjoria Muraya proposes to construct a seven storey hospital development with a bed capacitity of 150- 200 comprising of Laboratory, Morgue. Recovery Room, Emergency Operating Room , Pharmacy, Nephrologist, Optical, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, E.N.T, Orthopedic, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics Unit, Cardiology, Oncology, Dental Unit, Dialysis Unit, Wards (Antenatal, Labor, Postnatal, Paediatric Surgical Ward, Women’s Surgical Ward), Operating Room, Newborn Unit, I.C.U , H.D.U, in Plot L.R. No, Thika Municipality, Block 5/669 near Nampak in Biashara Location, Thika Sub-County, Kiambu County.
  • The Sanjweru Medical Center is proposing to put up a medical center with over twenty singular inter-connected buildings comprising out-patient department (OPD), labour and delivery ward, imaging and laboratory, emergency room, operating room, surgical wards, pediatrics, administration, staff and guest housing, incinerator, morgue and chapel, public toilets and water treatment house on plot No. L.R. No. Suba/Kamwende/5947, Magunga, Homa Bay County.
  • Rainham Steel Plant limited, proposes the establishment of a steel processing and storage plant. The project involves the design and installation of a steel reinforcement bars (Rebar) rolling mill plant of capacity of 12-15 tones per hour (TPH), administration block, proposed in road infrastructure, electricity substation, master store, scrap material yard, finished material yard, raw material yard, roll workshop, panel room, the main processing area, cold billet storage, water storage facilities, pump room area, truck parking bay and a green area on plot L.R Nos. Block 2/26177 and 22616 in Katani Area, Mavoko Sub-County, Machakos County.
  • Metricon Home Nairobi Company Limited, proposes to develop residential apartments on plot L.R. No. 330/ 155 (Original No. 330/39/8) along Mbaazi Avenue in Thompson, Nairobi City County. The project will involve the construction of three residential blocks of 16 No. storey each (2 No. basements, ground, 1- 16th) comprising 512 No. Units (336 No. one 144 No. two and 32 No . three bedroom units), parking on the basement and ground floor, perimeter wall with entry and exit gates, lifts and staircase , associated facilities and amenities. The proposed design has provided sewer and other plumbing reticulation, and surface run-off drains.
