The Senate is calling for public participation on seven Bills:The Election Offences (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 9 of 2024); The County Governments Election Laws (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 2 Of 2024); The County Wards (Equitable Development) Bill (Senate Bills No. 20 Of 2024); The Provision Of Sanitary Towels Bill (Senate Bills No. 7 Of 2024); The Political Parties (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill (Senate Bills No. 26 of 2024); The Election (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill (Senate Bills No. 29 of 2024); and The National Disaster Management Bill (National Assembly Bills No. 24 Of 2023).

Pan- African Youth Convention.

The Pan African Youth Convention (PAYC) is a five-day conference organized by Youth Bridge Kenya, scheduled to take place this week from July 8th to 12th, 2024, at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi. This event will unite notable youth leaders, policymakers, academics, industry leaders, youth influencers, and women leaders from across Africa and the diaspora. They will convene to explore topics such as the youth dividend in Africa, African renaissance, and the role of youth in advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The convention’s central theme is “Harnessing Africa’s Demographic Dividend: The Role of Youth Inclusion.”

Occupy Ministry of Health.

Citizens of Kenya will gather today, July 8th 2024, to protest against the Ministry of Health. These demonstrations are against the Ministry’s failure to place medical interns and ensure fair remuneration. This comes after earlier protests this year, when medical graduates marched in solidarity to protest the delays in their postings for compulsory professional training and licensing by the Ministry of Health.

Josphat Mwangi, General Manager, Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia

Josphat Mwangi is the new General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia. He has been the Commercial Director since June 2020.  He has worked with the company for 21 years and has held various positions in finance, sales and marketing.  As the Sales and Marketing Director at CCBA Kenya since June 2020, Mwangi has demonstrated strategic prowess in driving sales and marketing initiatives. He also held significant governance roles, serving as a Board Member for Equator Bottlers since July 2017 and Crown Beverages Kenya Limited since July 2016. Previously, he was the Finance Director at Nairobi Bottlers Limited for over seven years, where he provided strategic financial leadership and managed key functions such as business planning, resource allocation, and risk management. His earlier roles include Country Finance Manager positions at both Nairobi Bottlers Limited and Coca-Cola Kwanza Limited, as well as Division Audit Manager at Coca-Cola Sabco, showcasing a strong background in financial management and audit across multiple regions.
