National Assembly begins Long Recess, Senate Gears Up for September 8 Resumption

The National Assembly entered its gazetted long recess, which runs from 28th August to 28th September 2026. Meanwhile, the Senate is in its final week of recess. Senators are set to resume plenary sittings on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, when the House Business Committee will prioritise county revenue allocation frameworks, pending committee reports, and division of revenue mediation bills.

EAVCA Annual Private Capital Conference Set for September in Nairobi

The East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) will host its Annual Private Capital Conference on 2–3 September 2026 in Nairobi. Gathering regional fund managers, institutional investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), and policy leaders, the summit will focus on mobilising private equity, venture capital, and catalytic finance into climate tech, agribusiness, financial services, and infrastructure across East Africa.

Kenyan Food Event to Showcase Agrifood and Hospitality Value Chains

The Kenyan Food Event (KFE) 2026 will run from 3–5 September at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, bringing together more than 85 regional and international exhibitors across the food processing, beverage, and hospitality sectors. Co-located with the Kenyan Hospitality and Kenyan Drink Events, the three-day B2B trade show serves as a primary marketplace for Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering (HoReCa) operators, commercial buyers, and equipment manufacturers. Hassan Ole Naado Re-Appointed to NACADA Board

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reappointed Hassan Kirua Ole Naado as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Campaign Against Drug Abuse Authority (NACADA). The three-year gazetted term takes effect on 2 September 2026. Ole Naado, who also serves as the National Chairman of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), brings extensive experience in community leadership, social advocacy, and inter-faith development frameworks to the anti-narcotics regulatory agency.
