The following Cabinet Secretaries are set to appear before the Senate to respond to various questions raised by members on matters of national interest:
A ruling in the matter involving Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Njeri Kihara will be delivered on July 29, 2025. In her last court appearance, she failed to plead to charges of offensive conduct.
Her defense team led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ndegwa Njiru told the court that the charge sheet was defective. They insisted that the plea ought to be deferred citing discrepancies between the section stated on the charge sheet and particulars of the offense. The prosecution opposed the deferment of plea taking on grounds that the magistrate had jurisdiction to interpret the Constitution and allow the matter to proceed.
Kihara was dramatically arrested at her home in Naivasha on 17th July 2025 over remarks she made against President William Ruto on 8th July 2025 in regards to the saba saba demonstrations.
