The National Assembly is on recess and will resume regular plenary sittings on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
The High Court and the Supreme Court will be on recess from 1st August 2026 until 15th September 2026.
The 2nd African Journal of Engineering Research and Innovation (AJERI) Scientific Conference will be held on July 30–31, 2026, at Kenyatta University under the theme “Engineering Innovations for Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency.” The conference, organised by the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) in collaboration with Kenyatta University, will bring together researchers, engineers, policymakers, industry leaders and innovators to discuss sustainable engineering solutions, circular economy practices and resource efficiency across Africa. The programme will feature keynote addresses, technical paper presentations, panel discussions, innovation exhibitions and networking sessions. The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony is expected to be Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Hon. John Mbadi, rather than President William Ruto as had earlier been speculated.
The Nation Digital Summit CEO Roundtable is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Capital Club, Nairobi. Organised by Nation Media Group, the executive forum will bring together CEOs, business leaders and digital transformation experts to discuss Africa’s evolving digital economy, emerging technologies, leadership trends and the cultural forces shaping the future of business. The roundtable is expected to feature high-level discussions on innovation, digital transformation and the policy environment needed to drive sustainable growth. The event is being held in partnership with Odoo, Absa and other organisations supporting digital transformation initiatives across the region.
Paul Muthaura, MBS, will join the Board of Diamond Trust Bank Kenya as a Non-Executive Director, effective 14 July 2026. Muthaura brings extensive experience in financial regulation, corporate governance and financial sector development. A former Chief Executive of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) of Kenya, Muthaura has also held senior leadership roles at ICEA LION Group and the Africa Carbon Markets Initiative (ACMI), building expertise across banking, insurance, capital markets , and sustainable finance. He currently serves on the boards of BAT Kenya, ICEA LION Asset Management and Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya, and is expected to strengthen the bank’s strategic oversight and governance as it navigates an evolving regulatory, digital and sustainability landscape.
