Justice Aggrey Muchelule will lead the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) Court of Justice as the Principal Judge for a five-year-term. Justice Muchelule, whose appointment was confirmed by Attorney General Dorcas Oduor via a public statement, currently serves at the Court of Appeal.
With over four decades of legal service, Justice Muchelule began his career in 1982 as a District Magistrate and steadily rose through the ranks to become Chief Magistrate, serving in key regions such as Nairobi, Mombasa, Kakamega, and Eldoret. By 2009, he was appointed to the High Court, where he presided over landmark cases and led divisions in Kisii, Embu, Bungoma, and Kisumu. He holds both a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, he also earned a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
The ODM is gearing up for its grassroots elections nationwide on November 27th, and you can bet all eyes will be on them! Past party elections have been known to stir up some drama, with divisive and chaotic moments leading to major fallouts. Following the elections, Raila Odinga will head to Kisii County this Thursday, November 28th for a rally and thanksgiving ceremony in honour of Governor Simba Arati. Then, on December 1st, he’ll be in Vihiga County for a similar event organised by Senator Godfrey Osotsi. Party members are expected to show up at their respective polling stations on Monday, 25th November, to elect presiding officers ahead of the big day.

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Jaine Mwai as Chief Technology & Operations Officer (CTO) effective this Monday.
This is in response to Peter Gitau’s resignation. Jaine Mwai has a graduate diploma in public accounting from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and a bachelor’s degree in management economics from the University of Guelph in Ontario. She is also a graduate of the Federation of Kenya Employers’ Female Future Leadership Development Program. Additionally, she is certified in Artificial Intelligence Implications for Business Strategy from the MIT Sloan School of Management and Digital Transformation Strategy from the Yale School of Management.
