The National Assembly is scheduled to resume its sittings on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, at 2.30 pm after being adjourned due to a lack of quorum. The tentative business includes the Second Reading of the Equalisation Fund Appropriation Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 39 of 2026), followed by the Committee of the Whole House on the same Bill.
The House is also expected to consider motions on the implementation status of reports on petitions and House resolutions, as well as audited financial statements for various funds.
The Senate is on Recess and is set to resume Plenary on 8th September 2026.

The High Court, Courts of Equal Status, and the Supreme Court remain on annual August recess throughout the week of 24–30 August 2026. Full court proceedings remain suspended until 15 September 2026. Designated duty judges remain on call across the main registries for urgent applications, and e-filing portals operate on weekdays (24–28 August 2026).

Nairobi takes centre stage in regional communications as it hosts the 2nd Africa Global Public Relations Week (AGPRW 2026) from Wednesday, 26 August to Friday, 28 August 2026. The leadership transition at IG Sacco marks a pivotal shift in the institution’s financial and operational management. Following the departure of former Chief Executive Officer Dr. CPA Peter Vuhyah, Mary Awino assumes the role of Acting CEO, effective Monday, 24 August 2026. Awino moves from her previous position as Finance Manager, bringing internal institutional knowledge and continuity to the executive desk during this administrative realignment.
To fill the vacancy created by Awino’s promotion, Salome Juma has been appointed Acting Finance Manager. This dual appointment reflects the board’s strategy to stabilise core operations while maintaining financial oversight.
