Africa Soft Power Summit 2026

Nairobi becomes a continental ideas capital from 20–23 May 2026 as the Africa Soft Power Summit returns for its seventh edition, bringing together leaders from across Africa and the global diaspora to examine how culture, finance, and policy intersect to shape the continent’s global influence. Held primarily at the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands, with extended cultural and city-based experiences running through 24 May, the summit positions soft power not as symbolism but as strategy. Under this year’s theme, “Africa’s Compound Interest: Aligning Ecosystems of Finance, Creativity and Human Capital for Growth,” the convening explores how financial systems, creative industries, and human capital can be integrated to drive sustainable economic transformation.

CPA Roble Said Nuno, Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary of The Commission on Revenue Allocation

On 15 May 2026, the Commission on Revenue Allocation announced the appointment of Roble Said Nuno as its new Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary, following a competitive recruitment process. He is expected to assume active leadership duties in the coming weeks, stepping into one of Kenya’s most consequential public finance roles at a time of heightened debate over equitable revenue sharing and fiscal sustainability.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Nuno brings extensive experience in public finance management, fiscal policy, and intergovernmental budgeting. Over the years, he has built a career within Kenya’s public finance ecosystem, contributing to revenue allocation frameworks, budget analysis, and institutional strengthening initiatives linked to devolution. His appointment places him at the centre of negotiations between national and county governments, overseeing the technical backbone of revenue-sharing formulas under Article 216 of the Constitution. As CEO and Commission Secretary, he will guide the CRA Secretariat in advising Parliament on vertical and horizontal revenue division, supporting data-driven fiscal policy, and navigating the politically sensitive balance between national priorities and county funding needs.
