The Speaker of the National Assembly has called for written statements on oath (affidavits) with supporting evidence contesting the suitability of the candidates for appointment to the offices they have been nominated for. The memoranda are to be received on or before Wednesday, 21st May 2025.
The Court has received applications to withdraw the suits filed by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The matter filed was in regard to the impeachment carried out against him in October of 2024. The application of withdrawal shall be heard before a new panel of judges appointed by the Chief Justice.

Pamella Sittoni has been appointed as the Public Editor of Nation Media Group PLC. She is succeeding Peter Mwaura who has sinc retired. Prior to this appointment, she served the Group Editor at Nation Media Group until June 2024, and made history as the first female Executive Editor and Mnaging Editor in 2019. Her appointment comes shortly after she announced her departure from Nation Media Group. Outside of her employment in Nation Media Group, Pamella sits on the Board of Willow Health, a position to which she was apponted in December 2024. She also worked as a Managing Editor at Standard Media Group from November 2003 to July 2006 and as a Communications Specialist for UNICEF from July 2006 to July 2012. Pamela holds a master’s degree in New Media, Democracy, and Governance from the University of Leicester. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Literature and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi.
