The National Assembly will remain in recess until 27th July 2026, when Members of Parliament are expected to resume House sittings.
The High Court will, on 16th July 2026, mention a petition filed by the civil society organisation Vocal Africa challenging the political activities of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi. The petition argues that the two Speakers have used their constitutional offices to advance partisan political campaigns, contrary to the principles of impartiality and the separation of powers. Justice David Mburu has already issued interim conservatory orders restraining the Speakers from engaging in such activities pending the hearing of the case, and has directed them to file responses within three working days. The outcome of the matter could clarify the constitutional limits of political engagement by parliamentary office-holders and shape future governance practices.
The Development Roundtable 2026 will be held on 15th July 2026 at the Nairobi Serena Hotel, bringing together senior government officials, business executives, investors, development partners, and policy experts. The forum aims to facilitate dialogue on Kenya’s economic outlook, investment opportunities, and regional development priorities. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening public-private partnerships, promoting sustainable economic growth, and identifying policy interventions to support investment and development across Kenya and the wider East African region.
Skill Up Africa 2026 will take place on 15–16 July 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre. The event will bring together innovators, educators, policymakers, technology companies, and young professionals to explore the future of work in Africa. Through panel discussions, exhibitions, and training sessions, participants will examine how artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies are reshaping industries and equip young people with the skills needed to compete in an increasingly digital economy. The initiative seeks to position African talent at the centre of technological transformation rather than as passive consumers of innovation.
