Equalization Fund (Administration) Bill,2024

Following a long period of tussle over the administration and appropriation of the Equalization Fund, the National Assembly will this week deliberate on the Equalization Fund (Administration) Bill, 2024 having been approved by the Senate. 

The Equalization Fund is a creation of the Constitution, 2010 aiming to bring to level the areas that had been left behind due to systemic inadequacies. However its administration has been faced with numerous hurdles including the lack of an adequate legal framework.

The Annual LSK Conference

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Annual Conference is scheduled to take place from 13th to 18th August, 2024, at the Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in Diani, Kwale County. This year’s conference will be held under the theme “Empowering Legal Excellence: Good Governance and the Rule of Law for Sustainable Development.”

The event will also feature discussions on “AI in Law: Navigating the Future of Legal Practice,” exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal practice and how it is shaping the future of the legal profession.

Georgina Odhiambo New Head of IT Retail Banking, NCBA

Georgina Mukami Odhiambo has been appointed as the Head of IT Retail Banking at NCBA, bringing with her over 15 years of extensive experience in the banking sector. Her career highlights include nearly 11 years at the National Bank of Kenya, where she held several key positions. Prior to that, Georgina gained valuable experience at the Co-operative Bank of Kenya as an E-Channels Supervisor Officer.

Georgina holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and an MBA in Strategic Management from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). She is also ITIL certified, specializing in Service Strategy.

In her new role at NCBA, Georgina is poised to drive digital transformation and enhance customer experiences through innovative IT solutions.
