Mohammed Nyaoga

Mr. Mohamed Nyaoga is the chair of the African Development Bank’s Disclosure and Access to Information Appeal Panel. He was selected during the panel’s induction and working session held on March 6 and March 7, 2025. His office is set to be the final arbiter in disclosure appeals for the AfDB.
Mr. Nyaoga is the Senior Partner at Mohammed Muigai Advocates. He specialises in corporate finance and civil and commercial litigation. In addition to his practice of Law, he has served as Vice–Chairman of the Law Reform Commission, Chairman of its Business Laws Committee, and Chairman of the Mining Licences Task Force. He has also served as the Director of the Capital Markets Authority, Chairman of the International Commission of Jurists, and Chairman of EcoBank Kenya. He has also served as Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry into the suspension of the County Government of Makueni.
He previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Kenya until June 2023. Additionally, he is a certified training consultant in corporate governance, accredited by the Centre for Corporate Governance. He has also worked as a consultant and Trainer for the State University of New York on procurement (SUNY Kenya) and as a lecturer in the LLM Programme at the University of Nairobi, School of Law (Business Law Department), focusing on Public Procurement and accounting law.
He was called to the Bar in 1985. He holds LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Nairobi, as well as a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS), a Certified Company Director and a member of the Institute of Directors of Kenya.
