The Lake Basin Development Authority Act – Re-Appointment
H.E William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appointed James Waore Dianga to be Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Basin Development Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 21st November, 2025.
Supreme Court of Kenya – December Recess, 2025
Chief Justice Martha Koome gave notice that the Supreme Court December Recess will commence on Sunday, 21st December, 2025 and terminate on Tuesday, 13th January, 2026, both days inclusive. The duty Judge will be available during recess to deal with urgent matters. The Supreme Court Registry shall remain open to the public from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all weekdays other than public holidays.
The Civil Procedure Act – Establishment of Magistrate’s Court
Chief Justice Martha Koome has established Chepkemel Magistrate’s Court within the supervisory Jurisdiction of Kericho High Court, with effect from 1st December, 2025.
The Judicial Service Act – Steering Committee on Mediation
Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed several persons to serve for a period of five (5) years as members of the Steering Committee on Mediation, with effect from 24th November, 2025. The committee will provide strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight for implementing and institutionalizing mediation as a dispute resolution mechanism nationwide.
The Judicial Service Act – NCAJ Standing Committee on Criminal Justice Reforms
The Chief Justice and Chairperson of the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) appointed several members to the NCAJ Standing Committee on Criminal Justice Reforms for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 3rd November, 2025.
The Universities Act – Appointment
Julius Migos Ogamba, Cabinet Secretary for Education appointed Prof. Peter Keiyoro as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council for the Tharaka University, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 21st November, 2025.
The Agricultural Finance Corporation Act – Re-Appointment
Mutahi Kagwe, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development made the following appointments:
- Re-appointed John Mtuta Mruttu to be Member of the Board of the Agricultural Finance Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 21st November, 2025.
- Re-appointed John Mtuta Mruttu to be Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Agricultural Finance Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 21st November, 2025.
The Energy Act – Appointment
James Opiyo Wandayi, Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum appointed Eng. Francis Agar to be a Member of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 21st November, 2025.
The Wildlife Conservation and Management Act – Appointment of Honorary Wardens
Rebecca Miano, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife appointed several persons to be honorary wardens responsible for various conservation areas (Central Rift, Coast, Eastern, Mountain, Nation Cadre, Northern, Southern, Tsavo, and Western), for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 3rd September, 2025.
The Elections Act – Corrigenda and Addendum
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission issued several corrigenda and addenda for the 27th November, 2025 By-Elections, correcting errors in:
- Tallying Centres for the By-Elections
- Nominated Candidates
- Polling Stations
- Addition of polling station in Kabuchai Constituency
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act – 3rd Quarterly Report
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission submitted its 3rd Quarterly Report covering 1st July, 2025 to 30th September, 2025, forwarding 58 investigation reports to the Director of Public Prosecutions with the following breakdown:
Statistical Summary:
- Total files forwarded to DPP: 58
- Files recommended for prosecution: 55
- Files recommended for closure: 3
- Files where recommendation to prosecute accepted: 12
- Files returned for further investigation: 20
- Files where prosecution declined but administrative action recommended: 2
- Files awaiting DPP’s advice: 20
Key cases included:
- Embezzlement of public funds at County Government of Bungoma (KSh. 70,205,882)
- Conflict of interest cases against Governors of Bomet, Kajiado, Kiambu, and Marsabit Counties
- Procurement irregularities at various county governments and institutions
- Forgery of academic certificates by public officers
- Bribery cases involving public officials
The Registration of Persons Act – Appointment of Registration Officers
The Principal Registrar appointed several persons to be Fingerprint Officers and Registration Officers for various grades, with effect from dates indicated (ranging from April 2023 to July 2024).
The Crops Act – Proposed Grant of Licences
The Agriculture and Food Authority proposes to grant coffee-related licences (exports, imports, value addition/roasting and packaging) to several companies including:

Public objections should be lodged within fourteen (14) days from the date of publication.

The Competition Act – Authorisations
The Competition Authority of Kenya authorized the following transactions:
- The proposed acquisition of direct control of Atlas Tower Kenya Limited by Stoa S.A. (31st October, 2025)
- The proposed acquisition of sole control of Mace Consult Holding Limited by Consult Bidco Limited (31st October, 2025)
The Co-operative Societies Act
Extension of Inquiry Orders:
- KUSCCO Housing Co-operative Society Limited inquiry period extended for seven (7) days up to 26th November, 2025
- Kenya Planters Co-operative Union liquidation period extended for another one (1) year
- Afya Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited inquiry period extended by fifteen (15) days

The Companies Act – Intended Dissolution
The Registrar of Companies gave notice of intended dissolution of numerous companies at the expiry of three months from publication date, inviting persons to show cause why the companies should not be struck off.
The Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act – EIA Study Report
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) received an EIA Study Report for the proposed residential apartments development on Plot L.R. No. Nairobi/Block 4/151, off Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Nairobi City County by Calla Residency Ventures Kenya Company Limited.
Project Description:
- 20-storey residential block with three basements for parking
- Ground floor for parking spaces and apartment units
- Roof floor for apartments and recreational facilities
- 19 floors comprising 316 residential apartment units
