THE CIVIL PROCEDURE ACT (Cap. 21), THE HIGH COURT (ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION) ACT (Cap. 8C) 

The Chief Justice has established a Tribunals Appeals Division of the High Court at the Milimani Law Courts, effective 1 July 2026, pursuant to sections 11 and 12(3) of the High Court (Organization and Administration) Act, 2015. The Division will hear appeals from tribunals whose appeals lie with the High Court, except those arising from the Tax Appeals Tribunal. 

THE NARCOTIC DRUGS AND PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES (CONTROL) ACT (Cap. 245) 

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has designated specified forensic chemistry officers as analysts under section 67(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, with effect from 14 April 2026.

The Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture and Children Services has appointed Gerald Kimathi Ithibua and Dr. Jane Jepkorir Barus as members of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund Board for a three-year term, effective 10 July 2026. 

THE UNIVERSITIES ACT (Cap. 210) 

The Cabinet Secretary for Education has re-appointed Mohamed Loo, Grace Nekoye Katasi, Paul Mwasaru Mwazumbo, and Asma Hadi Awadh as members of the Council of the Technical University of Mombasa for a three-year term, effective 10 July 2026. 

THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL ACT (Cap. 132), THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL (ELECTION OF CERTAIN COUNCIL MEMBERS) REGULATIONS (L.N. 183 of 2021) 

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports has postponed the National Youth Council Elections that were scheduled for 5–26 July 2026 to facilitate compliance with voter education requirements under the National Youth Council (Election of Certain Council Members) Regulations, 2021. The elections have been rescheduled as follows: Ward Level Elections on 9 October 2026, Constituency Level Elections on 16 October 2026, and National Youth Congress Elections on 30 October 2026. 

THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT AND CO-ORDINATION ACT (Cap. 387) 

The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry has appointed Sheila Chepkorir Kosgei as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Environmental Management Authority for a three-year term, effective 10 July 2026. 

THE WORKING COMMITTEE ON THE TRANSITION OF THE NAIROBI COFFEE EXCHANGE INTO THE COFFEE EXCHANGE PROVIDED UNDER THE CAPITAL MARKETS (COFFEE EXCHANGE) REGULATIONS AND THE CROPS (COFFEE) (GENERAL) REGULATIONS 

The Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development has amended Gazette Notice No. 1954 of 27 January 2025 by revoking the appointments of Jackie Muia and Roselyne Chepkirui, and appointing Michael Nyaga, Esther Njeri, Alfred Matiangi, and Geoffrey Mureithi as members of the Working Committee. All other provisions of Gazette Notice No. 1954 remain in force.

THE MINING ACT (Cap. 306), THE MINING (COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT) REGULATIONS (L.N. 148 of 2017) 

A Community Development Agreement Committee has been established under the Mining (Community Development Agreement) Regulations, 2017, in respect of the Community Development Agreement between the Kishushe Community in Wundanyi Sub-County, Taita Taveta County, and Karsan Samruddha Resources Kenya Limited (Licence No. ML/2024/0154). The Committee comprises the individuals appointed under the respective categories set out in regulation 7(1), effective 16 April 2026. 

THE MINING ACT (Cap. 306) 

The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs has notified the receipt of an application for a mining licence from Chaju Builders Limited under section 34 of the Mining Act. The application has been published for public comment for 42 days from the date of the notice, during which any person or community may submit objections to the Cabinet Secretary. 

THE TEACHERS SERVICE COMMISSION ACT (Cap. 212) 

The Teachers Service Commission has removed the listed individuals from the Register of Teachers following disciplinary proceedings, pursuant to sections 30(1)(e) and 30(2) of the Teachers Service Commission Act. The notice further reiterates that deregistered individuals are prohibited from teaching unless reinstated by the Commission, and outlines the penalties for engaging or employing unregistered teachers under the Act and the Code of Regulations for Teachers. 

THE KENYA INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS ACT (Cap. 411A) 

The Communications Authority of Kenya has published applications for various communications licences submitted under the Kenya Information and Communications Act. The applications cover Commercial Free-to-Air Television, Subscription Broadcasting Services, National Postal/Courier Operator, Network Facilities Provider (Tier 2 and Tier 3), and International Gateway Systems and Services licences. The Authority has invited members of the public to submit representations or objections to the applications within 30 days of the publication of the notice. 

IN THE HIGH COURT OF KENYA IN THE MATTER OF THE INSOLVENCY ACT, 2015 INSOLVENCY NOTICE NO. E99 OF 2023, RE: JUNGLE MACS EPZ LIMITED (IN LIQUIDATION) 

A final meeting of the creditors of Jungle Macs EPZ Limited (In Liquidation) has been convened to present an account of the company’s liquidation. THE LABOUR RELATIONS ACT (No. 4 of 2007) KENYA MANAGEMENT STAFF UNION (KMSU) 

A notice has been issued informing members of the Kenya Management Staff Union (KMSU) that an application to amend the Union’s constitution and rules has been received under the Labour Relations Act, 2007. Members may submit written objections to the proposed amendments within 21 days from the date of the notice, and the proposed amendments are available for inspection during working hours. 

THE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT (Cap. 490) 

A variation order has been issued appointing George Onudi Ogwang, Principal Assistant Co-operative Officer, as the liquidator of Kenton Kijabe Hill Co-operative Society Limited (in liquidation) for a period not exceeding one year, following the inability of the previously appointed liquidator, Naftali Miranyi Omari, to continue serving. The liquidator is authorized to take custody of the society’s property, books, and documents for the completion of the liquidation process.

NEMA has received an Environmental Impact Assessment Study Report for a proposed commercial development by Dragoncity International Limited on L.R. No. 20524 in Sabaki, Machakos County. The proposed project comprises a six-block commercial complex with shops, hotel rooms, parking and associated facilities. The notice outlines the anticipated environmental impacts and proposed mitigation measures, and invites the public to submit comments within 30 days to assist in the Authority’s decision-making process.

The Chief Magistrate’s Court at Makueni has given notice of its intention to seek leave from the Chief Justice to destroy specified court records, including criminal, traffic and criminal miscellaneous case files, after the expiry of three months from the date of publication. The notice invites persons wishing to reclaim exhibits in the affected cases to do so within the notice period, failing which the exhibits will be deemed part of the records for destruction.
