Presidential Appointments

The President of the Republic of Kenya made the following appointments;

  •   Dr. Simon Gicharu as the Chairperson of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023. The appointment of Prof. Elishiba Njambi Kimani is revoked.
  •   Naomi Shaban (Dr.) as the Chairperson of the Tobacco Control Board, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023, up to the 12th of July 2025. The appointment of Khama Rogo (Dr.) is revoked.
  •   Job Chirchir as the Chairperson of the Water Services Regulatory Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023. The appointment of Simon Gicharu (Dr.) is revoked.
  •   Titus Kipkoech Korir to be the Chairperson of the Kenya Forest Service, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023. The appointment* of Job Chirchir is revoked

Executive Appointments

  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has appointed Nelson Dzuya to be a member of the Non-Governmental Organisation Co-ordination Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning has appointed George Okeyo to be a member of the Board of Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum has appointed Jane Cheptoo Masai to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development has appointed Zakayo Maina to be a member of the Board of Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints Joel Kibe to be a member of the Council of the University of Nairobi, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning revoked the appointment of;

o   Stephen Lmosta Lekupe,

o   Eng. Erastus Kimuri

as members of the Kenya Trade Network Agency Board.

  •   The Cabinet Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forestry has appointed Jane Simita Munka to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Forest Service, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023. The appointment of Zakayo Maina is revoked.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC), the ASALS and Regional Development appoints Stephen Lekupe to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Ewaso Ngiro North River Basin Development Authority, for a period of one (1) year, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage has appointed Angwenyi Jimmy Nuru Ondieki as Chairperson and Gitu Kahengeri as member of the National Heroes Council for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 13th October 2023.
  •   The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs has appointed Eng.  Erastus Kimuri to be a member of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute Board, for a period of one (1) year, with effect from the 13th of October, 2023.
