JUDICIARY

Appointments 

The Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya and the Chairperson of the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ), Hon Martha Koome, appointed several persons as members to the NCAJ Committee on Anti-Corruption, for the remaining period of the Committee’s term: The appointment of Dorcas Oduor (Ms.) vide Gazette Notice No. 1668 of 2022 dated 18th February, 2022 is revoked.

 

The Chief Justice, Hon Martha Koome re-appointed George Mbagu Kinuthia, Alfred Sagwa Mdeizi, and Denis Kirui, to the Auctioneers Licensing Board, respectively, for a term of three (3) years, with effect from the 18th September 2023.

 

PUBLIC SECTOR 

Appointments 

H.E William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointed Moses Wekesa Mwambu Mabonga to be the Chairperson of the Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023. The appointment of Gichira Kibaara is revoked.

 

H.E William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointed Isha Anand (Dr.), Bernard Kimutai Maiyo, and Beatrice K.M. Amugune (Dr.), as members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, with effect from the 15th September, 2023 up to 5th March, 2025. 

 

H.E William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appointed Moses Njenga Chege to be the Chairperson of the Insurance Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September 2023. The appointment of Moses Wekesa Mwambu Mabonga is revoked.

The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u, appointed Ibrahim Mohamed Salat to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023.

Appointments 

The Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Hon Moses Kuria, appointed Neddy Jeruto Kiptoo to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Anti-Counterfeit Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the15th September, 2023. The appointment effected vide Gazette Notice No. 9355/2022 is revoked. 

 

Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, Hon. Simon Chelugui, appointed Benson Njoroge Ndungu to be a member of the Board of Directors for the New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023. The appointment* of James Mburuti Kinuthia is revoked.

 

ICT SECTOR

Appointments 

The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, Hon Eliud Owalo, appointed Valentine Khaminwa, John Kieru Wambui, and Kizito Chesesio, to be members of the Council to the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023. 

 

HEALTH SECTOR

Appointments 

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Susan Nakhumicha Wafula, has appointed:

  • Luka Kiprop Chemwolo and Mary Nyokabi Kamau, to be members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Medical Research Institute, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September. 2023.
  • Prof. Johnston Kangethe Kinyua to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Institute of Primate Research, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023.

 

TOURISM SECTOR

Appointments 

Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage, Hon Peninah Malonza, has appointed Chris Foot, Helen Wanjiru Gichohi, and Tom Silvester, to be members of the Kenya Wildlife Service Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 15th September, 2023. The appointment of Neddy Jeruto Kiptoo, Jennifer Mwangangi and Moses Njenga Chege has been revoked. Dated the 14th September, 2023.

Appointments 

Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Hon Alice Wahome, has revoked the appointment of Johnstone Kangethe Kinyua (Prof.) as a member of the Board of Directors of the Athi Water Works Development Agency.
