Appointments 

  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint— David Kepue ole Nkedianye (Dr.) to be the Chairperson of the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint— Samuel Mathenge Nderitu — Chairperson Members: Letulal ole Masikonde, Daniel Tuitoek (Dr.), as chairperson and members of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, with effect from the 31st May, 2023 upto 8th April, 2024. The appointments* of Boniface Kamanga Muhia (Amb.), Julius Kamau Muthanwa and Cynthia Jerotich Kipchillat are revoked.
  • William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoints— Sammy Latema (Dr.), David Kipchirchir Kimetto, as members of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, with effect from the 31st May, 2023 upto the 4th August, 2025. The appointments* of Irene Chebet Lorot and Reuben Kibet Arap Tuei are revoked.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport appoints— NANCY SANG to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Railways Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May 2023
  • Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— Justus Obuya, Ndula Wilberforce Imbiru, to be members of the Privatization Appeals Tribunal, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development appoints— NICHOLAS TIROP KOECH to be a member of the Board of the National Construction Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development appoints— TOM ATINGO to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023. 
  •  Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— JACQUELINE MUGA to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of Kenya Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  •  Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage appoints— Rose Polyne Nyambura, John Odek Odek, to be members of the Council of the Kenya Utalii College, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  •  Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage appoints— Joel Kamau to be a member of the Tourism Fund, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage appoints— Eric M. Kiniti, Alex Munyao, as members of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  •  Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation appoints— Joyce Narumbe Ekwam, Risper Maccs Berem, to be members of the Board of Directors of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation appoints— Odoyo Owidi to be the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 5th June, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation appoints— Faith Wachira as a member of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy appoints— Japh Okoth Olende, Sarah Muhoya to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints— Under paragraph (a)— Kennedy ole Kerei (Dr.) – Chairperson Under paragraph (d)— Agnes Busienei as chairperson and member of the Council of Maasai Mara University, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints – Reagan Kaberia as a member of the Universities Funding Board of Trustees, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints— Ambaka J. Kilinga, Lilly Kipesha, Rael Kigen, to be members of the Board of Directors of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023. Gazette Notice No. 10694 of 2021 is revoked.
  •  Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs appoints— Ali Abdalla Mondo to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Maritime Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023. 
  • Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC), the ASALS and Regional Development appoints— Lina Adikento Marleni, Melus Lodung’okiok, Daud Yakub Guliye, Lenaiyara Lenana Nixon, Veronicah Muthoni Ikunyua, Jane Tingis Putunoi to be members of the Ewaso Ngiro North River Basin Development Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023. Gazette Notice Nos. 8829 and 9363 of 2022 are revoked.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection appoints— Obed Luworo Mnene to be a member of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry appoints— Ronald O. Allamano to be a member of the National Environment Tribunal, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 31st May, 2023.

Judiciary 

  • The Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya has established the following Employment and Labour Relations Court Divisions in Nairobi: 

(a) The Claims and Labour Relations Division 

(b) The Judicial Review and Labour Rights Division 

(c) The Appeals Division 

with effect from the 26th January, 2023

  • The Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya has established an Employment and Labour Relations Court at Kakamega Law Courts, with effect from the 26th January, 2023.
