The government is investigating reports that Jubaland forces from Somalia have crossed into the country following recent allegations from Mandera County residents.

Speaking in Busia at the start of his Jukwaa La Usalama tour of Western Kenya, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen dismissed the claims, emphasising that the government will identify criminal elements and deal with them according to international laws, while warning against politicising the issue. However, he said that those seeking refuge will be assisted in collaboration with the Somali government, which has a good relationship with Kenya.
