He made headlines during the debates on the Finance Bill, 2024, garnering backlash for supporting the bill that aimed to extort Kenyans despite the difficult economic situation.  More recently, Kimani was applauded for spearheading conclusive public participation regarding the Business Laws Amendment Bill and Tax Laws Amendment Bill that aimed to amend a plethora of laws across the board.  The MP was also elected to chair the Africa Young Parliamentarian Network. Alongside him, Mohamed Kari from Comoros will serve as Vice Chairperson, Vuyolwethu Zungula of South Africa as Secretary General, Zaroua Ouma of Chad as Treasurer, and Amira Saber of Egypt as the Organising Secretary.

For example, he hand-delivered four carwash machines to Munguleta and Carwash Ya Reli to assist in job creation. He enjoys football and is a fan of Manchester United. Kimani is married to Winnie Mumbi, and the two have been together for 15 years. Their union has been blessed with two children.
