Monday, March 11, 2024

  • President Ruto met Kenya Kwanza MCAs as he drummed up support for key government projects, including the Affordable Housing Programme and the Social Health Insurance Fund. 

Tuesday, March 12, 2024

  • The Senate approved the Affordable Housing Bill, 2023, despite concerted efforts by Azimio, the minority side, to push for amendments to the bill. 

Wednesday, March 13, 2024

  • President Ruto chaired a Cabinet meeting to assess the progress of BETA projects. In the Despatch from Cabinet, the Cabinet backed the war against killer brews, narcotic drugs, and psychotropic substances in line with the measures issued by the Ministry of Interior. 

In addition, the Cabinet also approved the creation of a Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) tasked to protect and secure the nation’s critical infrastructure, such as ICT backbone infrastructure, rail, roads, airports, water facilities, energy plants, and power transmission lines.

  • The Haiti mission is in ‘limbo’ even as President Ruto remained bullish following his conversations with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The US contends that the mission is on, as it raises more funds for the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti.
