The impeachment proceedings against the Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture, Mr Mithika Linturi, are currently underway in Parliament. They focus on a fertiliser scandal in which farmers received fertiliser mixed with sand. The inquiry entered its second day on Thursday before a committee led by Marsabit MP Naomi Waqo, which aims to present its report by Monday next week. Mr Linturi, who is represented by lawyer Muthomi Thiankolu, asserted his readiness to demonstrate the flawed nature of the allegations.
