Post-Election Snapshot

On Monday, October 17,

1. Kenya Kwanza scooped all leadership positions of Senate committees.

2. Outgoing Interior PS Karanja Kibicho announced that President William Ruto would preside over his first National Day celebrations during the Mashujaa Day celebrations on Thursday. 

3.The vetting of the 22 Cabinet Secretary nominees President Ruto announced last month kicked off at the National Assembly.

4. The Deputy Speaker of the Senate announced that Japhet Koome, would be vetted as the Inspector-General of Police. The vetting will be conducted by Joint Committees mandated to do so. The secretariat will be from the National Assembly and the Senate.

On Tuesday, October 18,

1.President Ruto sent the name of Japhet Koome to Parliament, setting the stage for his vetting and approval to become the country’s fourth IG.

2. President William Ruto inaugurated the Formation Commander’s Conference at the Moran Centre in Karen, Nairobi.

Wednesday, October 181. The new DCI director, Mohammed Amin was sworn into office in a ceremony presided over by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Supreme Court in Nairobi.
