The significant political event of the week:
Azimio-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga became the first to unveil his vision for the country if he wins the 9th August polls.
On 6th June, Raila launched his manifesto promising a developmental State that puts manufacturing at the heart of growing the economy while emphasising social capital, integrity, social protection, strengthening of devolved functions, and protection of media freedoms.
On the other hand, the Kenya Kwanza coalition trashed Azimio’s manifesto terming it as a copy and paste of their agenda, which they have been preaching during political rallies in the country.
Further, the Kenya Kwanza coalition wants the NIS complaints Board to probe Interior PS Karanja Kibicho for abuse of national intelligence to advance partisan political agenda.
The DP faulted the voter register, alleging it had been altered and about one million votes in his perceived strongholds had been deleted.
The IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati, said Kenyans would have to wait a little longer to access the final audit report of the voter register since the process is yet to be concluded by the Commission.
Further, he said the IEBC would receive the report from the international firm Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG), which has been conducting the audit this week, before it gazettes the names of voters set to participate in the 9th August poll. The Commission was to publish the list on 9th June.
