Election Countdown: 3 days to go

On Monday, August 1, Education CS George Magoha directed schools to release learners for a break ahead of the next week’s polls. He said that this was meant to allow some teachers, who act as polling clerks, deputy presiding officers and presiding officers to prepare ahead of the August 9 polls. He added that the schools listed needed to be marked.

The commission had earlier dismissed demands by Azimio-One Kenya Alliance for the register to be used alongside a digital one, which the electoral agency preferred.
