On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the High Court temporarily halted the revocation of accreditation and the closure of all branches of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). This follows a directive from the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). The interim orders, issued by Justice William Musyoka, provide relief to thousands of students and graduates affected by the decision while the institution challenges the directive in court. At the same time, the Ministry of Education has assured Parliament that all certificates issued by KIM remain valid, even as consultations continue and the matter is reviewed. The development comes amid concerns raised by Members of Parliament (MPs) about the timing and implications of the decision, particularly for over 100,000 graduates already in the workforce.
