The Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation has re appointed Dr. John Kiplelei Kirui as a Member of the Board of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency for a further term of three years effective 12th June 2026.

The Governor of Kajiado has appointed a seven-member Ad Hoc Committee, drawn from professional bodies and community representatives, to oversee the process of conferring municipal status on Kenyawa Poka and Oloitoktok towns, effective 7th May 2026.

The Governor of Kiambu has appointed a five-member Selection Panel, chaired by Njoroge Baiya, to oversee the recruitment of the Chairperson, members, and CEO/Secretary of the County Public Service Board. The Panel will handle advertising, shortlisting, interviewing candidates, and submitting nominees for approval by the County Assembly.

The Governor of Nyamira has reassigned two County Chief Officers, with Josephat Motanya Gori moving to Lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, while Joshua Ombogo Marwanga takes over Livestock and Fisheries Development, effective immediately.

The Governor of Makueni has revised the terms of Christopher Nzomo Masila, Josephine Mbenya Mwau, Dr Zebedee Mwandi, and Deborah Mutheu Kyalo to full-time Members of the County Public Service Board for the remainder of their six-year tenure, effective 1st July 2026.

 

THE LAND ACT (Cap. 280) CONSTRUCTION OF MWACHE DAM TRUNK MAIN AND SOUTH MAINLAND TRANSMISSION PIPELINES INTENTION TO COMPULSORY ACQUIRE LAND

 

The National Land Commission has issued a notice of intention to compulsorily acquire land in Kwale County on behalf of the Coast Water Works Development Agency for the construction of the Mwache Dam trunk main and South Mainland transmission pipelines, with affected persons invited to inspect the plans at designated offices.

The County Assembly of Busia has scheduled a special sitting on 15th June 2026 to consider the Debt Management Strategy Paper and table the Budget Estimates for the 2026/2027 financial year, with only the listed business to be transacted.

THE LAND ACT (Cap. 280) ILLASIT – NJUKINI – TAVETA (LOT 32) ROAD PROJECT ADDENDUM

 

The National Land Commission has issued an addendum adding additional parcels of land in Taita Taveta County for compulsory acquisition for the Illasit–Njukini–Taveta (Lot 32) Road Project, with inquiry notices to be published in due course.

The National Land Commission has scheduled public inquiries in July 2026 for persons affected by the compulsory acquisition of land for the Illasit–Njukini–Taveta Road Project, requiring claimants to present ownership and compensation documents at designated venues in Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties.

The County Government of Homa Bay has re-appointed nine members, including Joseph Mitito, Emmanuel Otado, and Ruth Oyugi, to the Hospital Management Board of the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital for a three-year term effective 1st June 2026.
