  •     The County Governments (Revenue Raising Process) Bill, 2023 

JUDICIARY

Appointments

  •     The Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya has appointed:

○     Carolyne Njagi as the National Community Service Orders Co-ordinator, for a term of three (3) years, with effect from the 5th June 2023.

○     Felix Kombo, Anthony Mwicigi and Stella Atambo to be members of the Auctioneers Licensing Board respectively, for a term of three (3) years, effective from the 14th April 2023.

○     Numerous persons to be members of the NCAJ Standing Committee on Court Users. The Committee members will serve for three (3) years.

PUBLIC SECTOR

Appointments

President William Ruto has appointed:

  •     Eng. John Nyambok to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Chemelil Sugar Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April 2023.
  •     Jared Odhiambo Opiyo to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April 2023.
  •     Dr. Erick K. Rutto to be the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Water Sector Trust Fund, with effect from 14th April 2023 up to 4th July 2025.

Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Mithika Linturi has appointed:

  •         Eric Osenya, Mary Akoth Were, Laura Abishag Matiko, Kipkoech Kirui, John Billy Momanyi and Douglas Kailanya to be members of the Board of Directors of South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April 2023.
  •         Samwel Ogola Bonyo, Mary Simat, Henry Ntongai Mitu, David Kiplagat Kitur, Enricah Apiyo Dulo and John Kipyegon Chesiror to be members of the Board of Directors of Chemelil Sugar Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April 2023.

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has gazetted numerous persons as fingerprint experts.

The Inspector-General of the National Police Service designates numerous persons as Seizures Registrar.

LAND & ENVIRONMENT SECTOR

Environmental Impact Assessment

  •     Legacy LA Relance (EA) Limited, proposes to establish an asbestos disposal site on a 5-acre piece of land. The proposed asbestos disposal landfill will comprise, a disposal pit of up to 10m deep, a temporary site office and house, a sanitary block with toilets, shower room and changing room, truck washing bay, chain link fence wall to cover the selected area for disposal of asbestos, temporary storage areas and associated facilities. The proposed project will be located on Plot L.R. No. 2059 Chanjalo Area, Kamalo Sub-location, Adu Location, Magarini in Kilifi County.
  •     Amberton International Holdings Limited, proposes to construct a residential apartment that will comprise 9 blocks, each having a total of 6No. floors (ground + 5 floors). The development will have a total of 259 housing units (69No. one-bedroom units, 168No. two-bedroom units, and 22No. three-bedroom units), a clubhouse, a wastewater treatment unit, and other associated facilities and amenities. The project will be located on Plot B to be excised from Ngong/Ngong/52926 situated at Rapasi Village, along Memusi Road, off Forest Line Road (D523) in Olkeri Location, Matasia, Ngong Division, Kajiado North Subcounty, Kajiado County.
  •     Visun Industries Limited proposes to install, construct and operate a waste tyre pyrolysis plant consisting of two reactor chambers, a secondary gas tank, horizontal condensers, a secondary tank with coil, 100 feet chimney flaring system scrubbers, ID fan, oil, and water separation tank, cooling tower and oil receiving tanks. The project is located at L.R. No. Kwale/Mwavumbo/1, Kalalani (Mwanda A’) Village, Samburu, Kwale Sub-county off Mombasa–Nairobi Highway, near Mariakani SGR, Kwale County.
