THE NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE ACT (No. 11A of 2011) PROHIBITION OF POSSESSION OF ARMS IN PARTS OF MARSABIT COUNTY DECLARED SECURITY DISTURBED AND DANGEROUS

The Inspector General of the National Police Service has prohibited the possession of arms in specified areas of Marsabit County, including Hillo Gorgora, Hillo Orofa, Hillo Walkite and Hillo Tanzania among others, and directed residents to surrender all arms to authorities with immediate effect.

THE PHYSICAL AND LAND USE PLANNING ACT OF 2019 (No.13 of 2019) COMPLETION OF PART DEVELOPMENT PLANS

The County Government of Marsabit has announced the completion of several Part Development Plans for land in Moyale, Sololo Makutano, Turbi and Marsabit town, and invited public objections or representations within sixty days.

The County Government has transferred key urban management functions to Keroka Municipality, including waste management, roads, water and sanitation, storm drainage, street lighting, markets, traffic control, fire services and urban planning, effective 1st March 2026.

The Governor of Nyamira County has appointed Rebecca Moraa Onyinkwa as Chairperson and James Boera Onyancha as Vice Chairperson of the Nyamira Municipality Board, revoking the earlier appointment of James Boera Onyancha as Chairperson.

The Governor of Uasin Gishu County has appointed Paul Kimutai Kibet as Chairperson and Daniel Kiptoo Melly, Emily Jeruto Ng’eno, Augustine Rop Cheruiyot, John Kiprotich Tanui and Angeline Atieno Oyomo as Members of the County Public Service Board for a six year term effective 24th June 2026.

The Governor of Kakamega County has appointed members of the Kakamega County Environment Committee, comprising county officials and representatives including Emmanuel Matte, Doreen Monica Magotsi, Sylvia Kedogo, Nickel Tari, Vincent Shitsama and Rev Colleta Masitsa Matioli, with the committee responsible for environmental management functions.

The Governor of Makueni County has appointed Irene Nduku Makau as County Executive Committee Member for Trade Marketing Industry Culture and Tourism, Julius Mwania Kinyungu as Chief Officer for Agriculture and Eng David Makau Ndolo as Chief Officer for Infrastructure Transport and Public Works.

The Governor of Makueni County has appointed members to the Mbooni Kee Municipality Board, including county officials and representatives from the private sector, professional associations, informal sector and neighbourhood associations, to serve for a five year term.

The National Land Commission has issued a notice of intention to allocate and regularize tenure for parcels within Thika Municipality Block 4/116 690 in Kiang’ombe Settlement Scheme, Kiambu County, and has invited objections within fifteen days.

The National Land Commission has scheduled inquiry hearings for persons with interests in land to be compulsorily acquired for the dualling of the Nyali Bridge to Kilifi A7 road section, with sessions to be held in Maweni, Shanzu and Mtwapa on specified dates to address compensation and related issues.
