The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the proposed construction of a 310-metre retaining beach wall at Diani Beach, Kwale County, by Silver Sands Kenya Limited. The project includes shoreline protection structures such as gabions and revetments, with identified impacts on waste management, marine environment, noise, air quality, and worker safety, alongside proposed mitigation measures.

Governor Nathif J. Aden has appointed eleven members to the Garissa County Budget and Economic Forum for a three-year term effective 2nd April 2026, in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.

The board, chaired by Idriss Ibrahim Abdi, will oversee facility management under the Garissa County Health Facility Improvement Financing framework.

The National Government, through the Ministry of Education, and the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet have entered into an intergovernmental partnership agreement on the issuance of bursaries and scholarships, in line with the Constitution and relevant laws. The agreement establishes a coordinated framework to enhance transparency, resource sharing, and equitable access to education, while promoting collaboration between the two levels of government in managing and delivering education support programs.

The National Government, through the Ministry of Education, and the County Government of Nandi have entered into an intergovernmental partnership agreement on the issuance of bursaries and scholarships, in line with the Constitution and relevant laws. The agreement aims to establish a structured framework for collaboration, enhance transparency and accountability, promote resource sharing, and improve equitable access to quality and inclusive education, with the agreement available for public inspection at designated government offices.

The County Government of Wajir has transferred key urban functions to Wajir Municipality, effective 22nd April 2026, under the Constitution and the Urban Areas and Cities Act. These functions include the design, construction, and maintenance of municipal roads, development of walkways and non-motorized transport infrastructure, and the promotion and management of municipal sports and cultural activities, marking a shift toward devolved urban service delivery at the municipal level.

 

Uasin Gishu THE CONSTITUTION OF KENYA THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT ACT (Cap. 265) UASIN GISHU COUNTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT

Governor Jonathan Kimeli Bii Chelilim has appointed Dr. Philip Kiprotich Chebunet and Loice Jelimo Cheruiyot as members of the Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee, following County Assembly approval. They will oversee Trade, Industrialization, Tourism and Co-operatives Development, and Public Service Management, Administration and Devolved Units, respectively.

The County Government of Isiolo has constituted the Isiolo County Budget and Economic Forum under the Public Finance Management Act, chaired by Governor Abdi I. Hassan and comprising county executive members alongside seven external stakeholders. The external members will serve a three-year term effective 25th March 2026, with the forum tasked with facilitating public participation and advising on county budgeting and economic planning.
