The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration has officially designated the Homa Bay County Commissioner’s residence as a State Lodge, effective from the date of publication.

Governor Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir has re-appointed Peter Njonjo as Chairperson of the Mombasa County Investment Corporation Board for a final three-year term effective 13th May 2026, under the Mombasa County Investment Corporation Act.

The County Government of Mombasa County has re-appointed Ahmed Farah, Denis Lewa Muganga, Charles Ndegwa, Fiona Malonza, the Chief Officer Finance and the County Attorney as members of the Mombasa County Investment Corporation Board for a further three-year term effective 13th May 2026.

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) has received an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the proposed construction of a 310-metre retaining beach wall at Diani Beach, Kwale County, by Silver Sands Kenya Limited. The project includes shoreline protection structures such as gabions and revetments, with identified impacts on waste management, marine environment, noise, air quality, and worker safety, alongside proposed mitigation measures.

Governor Nathif J. Aden has appointed eleven members to the Garissa County Budget and Economic Forum for a three-year term effective 2nd April 2026, in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.

The County Government of Garissa County has appointed members to the Iftin Sub-County Hospital Management Board for a three-year term effective 4th May 2026. The board, chaired by Idriss Ibrahim Abdi, will oversee facility management under the Garissa County Health Facility Improvement Financing framework.

The National Government, through the Ministry of Education, and the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet have entered into an intergovernmental partnership agreement on the issuance of bursaries and scholarships, in line with the Constitution and relevant laws. The agreement establishes a coordinated framework to enhance transparency, resource sharing, and equitable access to education, while promoting collaboration between the two levels of government in managing and delivering education support programs.

The County Government of Wajir has transferred key urban functions to Wajir Municipality, effective 22nd April 2026, under the Constitution and the Urban Areas and Cities Act. These functions include the design, construction, and maintenance of municipal roads, development of walkways and non-motorized transport infrastructure, and the promotion and management of municipal sports and cultural activities, marking a shift toward devolved urban service delivery at the municipal level.

Governor Jonathan Kimeli Bii Chelilim has appointed Dr. Philip Kiprotich Chebunet and Loice Jelimo Cheruiyot as members of the Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee, following County Assembly approval. They will oversee Trade, Industrialization, Tourism and Co-operatives Development, and Public Service Management, Administration and Devolved Units, respectively.

The County Government of Isiolo has constituted the Isiolo County Budget and Economic Forum under the Public Finance Management Act, chaired by Governor Abdi I. Hassan and comprising county executive members alongside seven external stakeholders. The external members will serve a three-year term effective 25th March 2026, with the forum tasked with facilitating public participation and advising on county budgeting and economic planning.

The County Government of Taita Taveta County has issued a notice requiring traders and property owners in designated trading centres to settle outstanding land rates through approved county payment channels, including revenue offices and mobile platforms. Failure to comply will attract penalties, interest, and enforcement measures such as property distress, repossession, or legal proceedings. Affected persons have been given 30 days from the date of publication to make payments or seek clarification from the County Physical Planning Office in Wundanyi.

The County Assembly of Nakuru County has convened a special sitting scheduled for 20th May 2026 to deliberate on the Nakuru County School Feeding Fund Bill, 2025 at the Second Reading stage. The sitting will take place at the Assembly Chambers with sessions scheduled for both morning and afternoon.

The project includes a 7-storey office block, a 3-storey retail mall, banking facilities, a data centre, and associated amenities. The report identifies potential environmental and social impacts—including biodiversity loss, pollution, drainage issues, and health and safety risks—alongside proposed mitigation measures. NEMA has invited the public to submit comments or objections within 30 days of publication to inform its decision.

The Principal Magistrate’s Court at Othaya has issued a notice of intended destruction of court records, including criminal and traffic cases from 2019 to 2021. The court will apply to the Chief Justice for approval after three months from the date of publication. Members of the public are advised to claim any exhibits related to these cases within the notice period, failing which they will be destroyed alongside the records.
