Jane Karuku is the Group Managing Director (GMD) and CEO of EABL, having been appointed on 1 January 2021overseeing one of the region’s largest beverage businesses through a period of operational transformation and robust commercial performance.

Karuku is a dynamic business leader with over 20 years of extensive management experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and non-governmental organisations. Before her roles as CEO and GMD, she served as the Managing Director of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), an EABL subsidiary, a position she was appointed to in July 2015. Her association with EABL began earlier in June 2014 as a Non-Executive Director, serving until July 2015.

 Prior to joining EABL, Karuku was President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) from March 2012 to October 2014. She also served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Secretary-General at Telkom Kenya from November 2008 to February 2012. Before her time at Telkom, she was Managing Director for Cadbury East and Central Africa from January 2002 to July 2008.

Her early professional years included roles at Farmers Choice Kenya and Kenya Cooperative Creameries. She has served on the board of Barclays Bank of Kenya and Junior Achievement-Kenya.

Currently, Karuku serves as the Chairperson of the Kenya COVID-19 Fund, Chairperson of Kenya’s Vision 2030 Board, a Trustee at the United States International University (USIU), and a board member of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. Karuku holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and an MBA in Marketing from the National University in California.
