Ruto Reads MPs Riot Act In Fiery UDA-ODM Joint Meeting
A joint parliamentary meeting between the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) turned contentious on Monday night after President William Ruto accused MPs of transforming Parliament into what he described as “chambers of corruption.”
The session, which included President Ruto, his deputy Prof. Kithure Kindiki, and ODM leader Raila Odinga, was intended to promote unity between the two parties. However, it quickly became dominated by intense debates over corruption allegations affecting both Houses of Parliament.
President Ruto, who last week in Homa Bay asserted that “corruption was ruling Parliament”, presented further details, citing intelligence reports suggesting that some legislators had demanded up to KSh150 million from governors facing impeachment.
