The Privatization Act, Re-Appointment to Privatization Commission

Feisal Abass has been re-appointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Privatisation Commission for a period of three (3) years, effective 18th July, 2025.

The Supreme Court Act, Amendments to Supreme Court (General) Practice Directions
Gazette Notice No. 9586 of 20th November, 2020 has been amended to update contact details for the Supreme Court Registry (telephone numbers, emails, and website). New requirements introduced: parties must provide and update full contact details (postal, phone, email, physical address), including advocate information where applicable.Formatting changes: all document margins standardised to 1 inch (2.54 cm).Filing timelines: the period for certain submissions increased from fifteen (15) to thirty (30) days. For consolidated petitions, submissions must not exceed thirty-five (35) pages.

 

The Employment And Labour Relations Court Act, Judicial Service Act, Judicature Act, Practice Directions To Guide Parties To Proceedings 

The Chief Justice has issued the practice directions to guide parties to proceedings for better compliance with the Employment and Labour Relations Court.

 

Kenya Home of Human Origins Museum and Science Park, Extension of Taskforce Term

The term of the Taskforce appointed under Gazette Notice No. 3036 of 2024 has been extended by one (1) month, from 18th July, 2025, to 17th August, 2025, by the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service.

 

The County Governments Additional Allocations Act, Conditional Allocations for FY 2024/25

The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury has announced disbursement of conditional allocations funded through a World Bank loan, German Financial Cooperation (KfW) loan, and Trust Funds Grant for Financing Locally-Led Climate Action – County Climate Resilience Investment Grant have been disbursed to respective County Governments as outlined in the accompanying Schedule.

 

The Water Act, Re-Appointment to the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority

Bernard Kipsengeret Koros, Simon Ngugi Mwihaki, and Rodgers K. Chepkwony have been re-appointed as members of the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority for a period of three (3) years, effective 18th July, 2025.

The Universities Act, Re-Appointment to University Council

Prof. Shem Wandiga has been re-appointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Council of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology for three (3) years, effective 18th July, 2025.

The Human Resource Management Professionals Act, Appointment to Council

Lewis Nyaribo Oburu has been appointed to represent the Nyanza and Western Region in the Institute of Human Resource Management Council for a term of three (3) years, effective 18th July, 2025.

 

The Land Act, Corrigenda on Land Required for KOSAP Mini-Grids Project

The National Land Commission has issued a corrigenda to amend land parcel coordinates previously published in Gazette Notices No. 4435 of 14th April 2022, No. 14034 of 11th November 2022, and No. 2072 of 23rd February 2024. The corrections pertain to land required for the construction of mini-grids under the Kenya Off-Grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP) by the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.

The Public Finance Management Act, Statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues

The National Treasury has released the Statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues as at 30th June, 2025. Key figures: Opening Balance (01.07.2024): KSh. 1,165,472,645.45, Actual Tax Revenue: KSh. 2,257,811,663,463.60, Actual Non-Tax Revenue: KSh. 171,137,113,669.91, Actual Domestic Borrowing: KSh. 1,077,537,073,636.15, Actual External Loans and Grants: KSh. 481,031,435,587.25, Other Domestic Financing: KSh. 4,442,840,654.70 and Total Actual Revenue: KSh. 3,993,125,599,657.06.

 

Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, Preservation Orders

  • Case HCACEC MISC NO. E27 OF 2025: Preservation orders issued against Judy Jepchirchir, Isaac Kipkemei Terer, and Erdemann Property Limited regarding motor vehicles (KDE 406C and KDA 907R) and specified properties in Eldoret Municipality and Athi River. Orders prohibit sale, transfer, or disposal and direct caveats registration. Respondents must surrender original logbooks within 14 days or face seizure. Rental income from properties to be preserved pending forfeiture application. Contempt of court penalties apply for non-compliance.
  • Case MISCELLANEOUS CIVIL APPLICATION NO E26 OF 2025: Preservation order issued against Evans Kimtai Sichei for a Toyota Axio motor vehicle (Registration No. KDN 780J). Orders were issued by Hon. Lady Justice Lucy Njuguna, Deputy Registrar, High Court, Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Division.

The Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, Notice of Forfeiture
Under Section 92(5) of the Act, the High Court has issued forfeiture orders in Anti-Corruption & Economic Crimes Division Civil Suit No. E38 of 2024.The orders affect Denis Irungu Mbatia, sued on his own behalf and as next of friend to minors C.K., W.N., and J.W.The forfeiture pertains to assets as specified in the court schedule attached to the suit.

 

The Human Resource Management Professionals Act (No. 52 of 2012) – Election Notice

An election for Chairperson and two Council members (representing Rift Valley and Coast/Eastern Regions) will be held on 20th and 21st August 2025.

The Transfer of Businesses Act (Cap. 500),  Business Transfer Notice

Old Mutual Life Assurance Company Limited (Company No. C.1/94) (“Transferor”) intends to transfer its long-term life insurance business to Old Mutual Life Assurance Kenya Limited (Company No. C.19223) (“Transferee”), subject to conditions precedent. Upon completion, the Transferee will acquire the assets and business and operate from the same premises. Debts and liabilities incurred by the Transferor up to the transfer date will remain with the Transferor unless otherwise specified in the agreement. If the agreement is not completed, the notice will be void. Claims against the Transferor related to the business may be submitted in writing with supporting documents within 60 days of publication. Addresses for both companies are provided for claim submissions.


The Insolvency Act, Appointment of Administrator

Kamal Anantroy Bhatt of Anant Bhatt LLP has been appointed as administrator of Lynx at Ngong Road Limited by the National Bank of Kenya, effective 7th May 2025. Creditors must submit claims by 21st July 2025.

Mental Health Act, Guardianship Appointments

George Omari Nyamweya appointed guardian and estate manager for Betty Kareha Omary Nyamweya (effective 21st March 2025). Jennifer Muthoni Njogu has been appointed legal guardian and estate manager for Patrick Peter Njogu Kamau by the High Court. Objections to the latter appointment are allowed within 14 days of notice.
