The Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, has appointed new members to the Artisanal Mining Committee of Nakuru County for a three-year term, effective 10th September 2024. The appointees include: Kennedy Mungai, Mourice Amalemba,Jane Njeri Ng’ang’a,George Gitau Kimani,Simon Saitoti Lekoora,Sylvanus Too, Joseph M. Kopejo and Wycliffe Chepkwony.

The Kenya Railways Corporation Act – Re-Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, Davis Chirchir has appointed members of the Board of the Kenya Railways Corporation, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 5th October, 2024. The appointees include: Philip Salau Mpaayei and Peter Gathenya Githinji.

 

The Environmental Management And Co-Ordination Act – Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Aden Duale has appointed David Njuguna Njoroge as a member of the National Environmental Tribunal, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 27th September, 2024. 

 

The State Corporations Act, Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited – Appointment

The Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Opiyo Wandayi has  appointed  members of the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited Board, for a period of one (1) year, with effect from the 27th September, 2024. The appointees include: Lilian Bokeeye Mahiri-Zaja andHenry Gathara Karinga. 

 

Executive Office Of The President, Office Of The Chief Of Staff And Head Of The Public Service, Government Press – Loss Of Title Deeds

The general public is notified that Title Deeds bearing serial numbers 5253001—5253367 are reported lost. The Government will not take any liability arising from any unauthorized transaction(s) on the said Title Deeds and they are deemed canceled and of no effect.

 

Thirteenth Parliament, The National Assembly Calendar Of The National Assembly, 2024 – Resumption Of Sittings 

According to the National Assembly Calendar approved on 14th February 2024, the House has resumed its regular sessions and will be sitting until from 16th September to 17th October 2024 before adjourning for a short recess. 

 

County Governments Act, The Mombasa County Water And Sewerage Services – Appointment

Selina Maitha (Ms.) has been appointed as chairperson of the Board of Mombasa Water and Sewerage Company (MOWASCO), by Governor Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 20th September, 2024.

 

County Governments Act, Coast General Teaching And Referral Hospital – Appointment

 Marleen Temmerman (Prof.) has been appointed as the  Chairperson of the Board of Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH), by Governor Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 20th September, 2024.

 

The Land Registration Act, Provisional Certificates

Multiple provisional land title certificates have been issued across regions, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Trans Nzoia, Machakos, Kitui, Mombasa and Kilifi following the loss of original titles. The new certificates will be issued after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.

 

The Land Registration Act, Degazetted Titles 

Joseph Nyaga Njoka was initially registered as proprietor in absolute ownership interest of all that piece of land containing 2.02 hectares or thereabout, situated in the district of Mbeere. Sufficient evidence has been adduced to show that the land title deed was acquired by fraud and notice has been given that after the expiration of 60 days, the land title deed issued will be degazetted and issue new land title deed provided that no objection will be received within that period.

Reconstruction of Green Card notices have been issued for properties in Kajiado West and Kwale.The new register entries will be established after a 60-day waiting period unless objections are raised.

The Kenya Information And Communications Act, Application For Licenses

Several applicants applied to the Communications Authority of Kenya for licenses to operate and provide services. The grant of these licenses could impact public and local authorities, companies, and individuals within the country. The Authority is urging individuals or groups to make representations or objections to the applications via letter to the Director-General of the Authority, indicating the license category. The applications must be submitted by 30 days from the notice’s publication.

 

The Co-Operatives Societies Act, Appointment Of Liquidator (Extension Order)

The order appointing Nelson N. Nyaga and Eliud N. Uno as joint liquidators of Kagaa Farmers Co-operative Society Limited (CS/1203) for six months has been extended due to their inability to complete the liquidation exercise within the specified period. The Land Act, 2012 – Reservation Of Public Land To Kenya Revenue Authority

The National Land Commission has issued a reservation order to the Kenya Revenue Authority for the management of land parcel MN/III/8807 in Mtwapa. The land will be used for mixed-use development and ancillary services, with special conditions. The management body must submit a development plan within 180 days, considering physical planning regulations, conservation, environmental, and heritage issues. The plan must comply with circular economy principles, support nature regeneration, and adhere to GIPs.
