The budget reading took place on June 13, 2024, but an online campaign has emerged urging people to reject the Finance Bill 2024. Using the hashtag #RejectFinanceBill2024, Kenyans have been sharing the telephone numbers of the President and Members of Parliament, along with screenshots of conversations with various MPs. The Senator of Nairobi, Mr Edwin Sifuna, commended this initiative, stating that all Azimio MPs have been instructed to vote against the bill. MPs allied with the Kenya Kwanza government will meet with the President on Monday, June 17th, to establish a unified position.
