Competition Authority of Kenya to carry out a study into the Online Food Delivery and Groceries Platforms in Kenya.

THE SUPREME COURT

The Chief Justice/President of the Supreme Court of Kenya has gazetted that the Supreme Court Easter recess will commence on Thursday, March 30, 2023, and terminate on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, both days inclusive. The duty judge will be available during recess to deal with urgent matters.

 

THE COMMISSION ON REVENUE ALLOCATION

Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service has gazetted that His Excellency the President has, pursuant to Article 215 of the Constitution, appointed the Public Service Commission as the selection panel for the purposes of selecting suitable nominees for consideration for appointment as the Chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation, subject to the requisite parliamentary approval processes.

 

THE KENYA CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY

The Director-General has gazetted a notice that the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has made decisions on application of licenses service whose particulars were previously published in the Kenya Gazette, the Notices No. 6174, 10679 and 15926 of 2022. The decisions have been gazetted for each applicant named in the first column of the Schedule gazette therein.

 

 

THE WATER SECTOR

 

The Chief Executive Officer, Water Services Regulatory Board, has gazetted a notice to the general public that Water Service Providers (WSPs), which provide water services by authority of a license issued by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB), have applied to WASREB for a regular tariff review and that the WSPs propose a tariff adjustment review to enable the water utilities operate at full cost recovery for sustainable provision of water services and also meet conditions necessary for improving service delivery which include among others, minor investments. The notice invites the public for hybrid public consultation meetings; face to face meetings and virtual meetings in respective areas to make oral and written submissions and ask any questions that may relate to the provision of water services in their areas.

 

THE STANDARD ACT

 

The Secretary of the National Standards Council has notified the public that the National Standards Council has declared the specifications or codes of practice appearing in the Schedule gazetted to be Kenya Standards, with effect from the date of publication of  the notice.

 

ONLINE FOOD DELIVERY AND GROCERIES PLATFORMS MARKET STUDY

The Ag. Director-General has notified the public that the Competition Authority of Kenya intends to carry out a study into the Online Food Delivery and Groceries Platforms in Kenya. The market inquiry will seek to uncover how food delivery and groceries platforms work in practice and suggest regulatory and policy options for competition and consumer protection enforcement. Members of the public with relevant information are advised to submit oral or written submissions to the Secretariat within twenty-one (21) days of publication of the Notice.
