Presidential Appointments

  • The President has appointed Abdi Bare Duale to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 20th January, 2023. The appointment* of Brig. (Rtd.) David Azangu Ngaira is revoked.
  • The President has appointed Charles Githinji (Dr.) to be the Chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 20th January, 2023. The appointment* of James Mandere Rogers Atebe (Dr.) is revoked.
  • The President has appointed Sophy Nekoye Waliaula to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 20th January, 2023.
  • The President has appointed Fatma Bakari Barayan to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 20th January, 2023.
  • The President has appointed Phillip Mong’ony as Chairperson of the State Corporations Advisory Committee for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 20th January, 2023.
  • The President has appointed Surum Ipato Korema to be the Chairperson of the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board, for a period of six (6) years, with effect from 20th January, 2023. The appointment* of Agnes Mantaine Pareiyo is revoked.

 Cabinet Appointments

  • Cabinet Secretary for Roads, Kipchumba Murkomen, appointed; Musa Osman Emmanuel Kibet Consolata Lusweti Lucas Maitha Caroline Njoki Maina to be members of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Ports Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 23rd January, 2023. The appointment* of Lydia Yator, Stephen Gichuhi Gichohi, Conrad Thorpe, Farida Abdalla Sud, and Nilfat Kassim Ali are revoked.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Health, Susan Wafula, appointed; Paul Magutu Njaria (Dr.) Dorcas Wanjiru Ngechu (Dr.) John Munguti Kisengi (Dr.) Miriam Wairimu Ndirangu (Dr.) Stephens Ogutu Oyaya (Dr.) Diana Marion (Dr.) as members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, with effect from 20th January, 2023.

Judicial Appointment

  • Chief Justice, Martha Koome, has appointed Hon. Samuel Gatambia Ndung’u, Hon. Jacqueline Muthoni Ojwang, Hon. Gillian Chepchumba Simatwo, and Hon. Mercy Kinanu Thibaru as Adjudicators in any proceedings under the Small Claims Court Act, for a period of twelve (12) months, with effect from the 16th January, 2023.
  • Chief Justice, Martha Koome, has appointed Hon. Lady Justice Kavedza Diana Rachel to be Chairperson of the National Community Service Orders, with effect from the 1st of January, 2023.

Dissolution of Companies

The registrar of companies has notified the public of a list of companies that have been dissolved and their names struck from the Register of Companies, with effect from the date of publication of the notice.

Competition Act – Settlement

The Competition Authority of Kenya (“the Authority”) has entered into a settlement agreement with Unilever Kenya Limited (“Unilever”) after the Authority conducted investigations under section 24A (1) of the Competition Act.
