Appointments

  • President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, Uhuru Kenyatta, has appointed Dr James Mworia as the Chancellor of Machakos University for a period of five (5) years, with effect from the 23rd April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has appointed Hawo Shanqo to be a member of the board of the Kenya Post Office Savings Bank Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, James Macharia, has appointed Philemon Kiprop Kandie to be the Director-General of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority, for a period of five (5) years, with effect from 13th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, James Macharia, has appointed Joyce Nyambura Mundara to be a member of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 11th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, James Macharia, has appointed Elema Isacko Filla to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Centre on Groundwater Resources Education, Training and Research in Eastern Africa, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, James Macharia, has appointed Ben Omondi to be a member of the Athi Water Works Development Agency, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Health, Mutahi Kagwe, has appointed various persons to be members of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Education, George Magoha, has appointed Stephen Mbugua Ngari to be a member of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 14th April, 2022. The appointment Mumo Kisau (Prof.) is revoked with immediate effect. 
  • Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Peter Munya, has appointed Yunis Ibrahim Sheikh to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Commodities Fund, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th April, 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Peter Munya, has appointed various persons to be members of the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 3rd May 2022.
  • Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Peter Munya, has appointed Ali Hassan to be a member of the Kenya Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis Eradication Council, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from April, 2022. The appointment* of Koin Lompo Papaa is revoked.
  • Attorney-General, Paul Kariuki has constituted  and appointed various persons to the taskforce on the development of the National Council on the Administration of Justice Bill. 

LAND & ENVIRONMENT SECTOR

Intention to acquire

  • The National Land Commission on behalf of Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has gazetted notice that the National Government intends to acquire the following parcel of land for construction of Athi – Kimongoro – Nkinja – Ugoti – Katithine, Auki Thii – Gaiti, Kijiji Thii – Gaiti roads and access to Meru University Road project in Meru County.
  • The National Land Commission on behalf of Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has gazetted notice that the National Government intends to acquire the following parcel of land for the construction of Cocacola–Mpuri–Kithaku–Katheri and Kithurune–Kariene–Kaguma–Giaki roads in Meru County.
  • The National Land Commission on behalf of the Ministry of Energy gives notice that the National Government intends to acquire the land defined by various coordinates which is required for the construction of mini grids under the Kenya Off- Grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP).

Environmental Impact Assessment

  • Heartland Terminals Limited proposes the development and operation of a bulk grain handling terminal complete with a marine jetty, gangway and direct conveyor belt system to 10 number storage silos, parking, administration building, associated infrastructure (generator, biodigestor, lightning nest, perimeter fence) allocated on L.R. No. Mombasa/Block 1/523, Shimanzi Mombasa County. NEMA invites members of the public to submit oral or written comments within thirty (30) days from 14th April, 2022, to the Director-General.
  • Proposed hotel development  will involve construction of a 14-storey building with 14 3-bedroom apartments, 14 2-bedroom apartments, administration office, restaurant, lobby jetty, conference hall, laundry, 2 meeting rooms, pools bar/entertainment, infinity pool and parking areas (ground and basement). NEMA invites members of the public to submit oral or written comments within thirty (30) days from 14th April, 2022, to the Director-General.

EDUCATION SECTOR

  • Secretary/Chief Executive of the Teachers Service Commission, Nancy Njeri Macharia, has published a list of various teachers removed from the Register of Teachers pursuant to the provision of section 30 (2) of the Teachers Service Commission Act.
