SENATE 

Communication from the Chair

  • The Speaker welcomed back the Senators after a short two-week recess full of political activities in preparations for the next general elections. The Speaker urged the Senate Majority Whip and the Minority Whip to ensure that the requisite number of senators is present in the House for us to conclude considerations of these matters. 
  • The Speaker provided communication regarding the passage of the Community Health Workers Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 30 of 2020) by the National Assembly.
  • The Speaker received a message from the Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the passage of the Children Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 38 of 2021).
  • The Speaker made communication to make on the request by the CS of the National Treasury seeking approval of the Senate on the National Government Guarantee for Laikipia County Government to borrow Kshs 1.16 billion through the issuance of a domestic infrastructure bond.
