Appointments

  • President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed Mohamed Khadhar Ibrahim to be a member of the Judicial Service Commission for five (5) years. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has appointed Stephen Mallowah to be a member of the Public-Private Partnership Committee for three (3) years, from 1st February 2022. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has reappointed several persons to be members of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund, for three (3) years, with effect from 13th May 2022. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has appointed Joyce Koech to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Certified Public Secretaries, for three (3) years, with effect from 1st June 2022.
  • The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has appointed John Loto Segelan to be a member of the Public Partnership Committee for three (3) years, from 8th June 2022. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public works, James Macharia, has reappointed several persons to be members of the National Housing Corporation Board, for three (3) years, from 3rd May 2022.

  • The Cabinet Secretary for Education, George Magoha, has appointed several persons to be the Chairperson and members of the Kenya National Innovation Agency Board for three (3) years, from 10th June 2022.
  • The Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Culture and Heritage, Amina Mohamed, has constituted a creative economy taskforce for four (4) months, from 10th June 2022. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Mutahi Kagwe, has reappointed Fredrick Wamwaki to be a member of the Board of the Kenya Medical Training College Board, for three (3) years, from 10th June 2022. 
  • The Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Eugene Wamalwa, has appointed Daniel Chesertek Bartonjo as a member of the Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation Board of Directors, for three (3) years, from 1st April 2022. 

TRADE SECTOR 

  • The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Ukur Yatani, has gazetted that an exemption from import duty shall apply in respect of imported raw materials used in the manufacture of animal and chicken feed imported between 1st November 2021, and 31st October 2022, by licensed Millers.

JUDICIARY 

  • Justice Mumbi Ngugi has gazetted notice that Fred Ojiambo has been elected as the vice-chairperson of the Tribunal to inquire into the conduct of High Court Judge, Hon. Justice Said Juma Chitembwe.

Environmental Impact Assessment

  • Athi Water Works Development Agency proposes to develop a 33-metre-high earth-fill dam reservoir with a clay core on the confluence of River Ikiwe and Mwania, new water treatment works, bulk water supply systems and associated works in Mikuyuni Sublocation, Kathekalcai Location, Machakos Central Division, Machakos Sub-County in Machakos County.
  • Taifa Gas Investments SEZ Limited proposes constructing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) import and storage terminal and related facilities at Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zones in plot L.R. No. Mombasa/Mainland South/Block 1V/247 in Mombasa County. The LPG Terminal project will encompass the following: 12 spheres; each will have a net capacity of 2,500 Metric Tons (MT), 1 bullet tank of 200 Metric Tons (MT), pump room, fire fighting system, administration block, driveway and truck parking facilities, canteen, bulk loading area, ablution block, power control, weighbridge office, workshop, and boundary wall. The proposed plant is designed to store propane, butane and LPG mix of various grades for domestic, commercial and industrial use. 
  • Royal Suburb Phase Three Limited proposes to develop residential apartments comprising a single 12-storey block totalling 446No. Apartments (I57No. Studio Apartments, 72No. Superior Studio Apartments, 151No. one-bedroomed apartments, 12No. Superior one-bedroomed apartments, 18 No. Convertible apartments and 36 No. two-bedroomed apartments), shops on the ground floor, lounge and offices, guard house, protected dustbin cubicles, sewer, lifts and other associated facilities and amenities on plot L.R. No. 1012/132 (Original No. 1012/47/1/9) at Roysambu area off Kamiti Road, Roysambu Sub-County, Nairobi County. 
  • Sogea Satom Kenya proposes to set up a hardstone quarry and camp in Sachangwan, Molo Subcounty, in Nakuru County. The quarry will supply aggregate material for constructing the Rironi — Nakuru — Mau Summit highway (A8).
