The Division of Revenue Bill (DoRB), 2021 proposes to allocate to County Governments Ksh.409.88 billion in the financial year (FY) 2021/22, which relative to the financial year 2020/21 allocation, reflects an increase of Ksh.53.5 billion or 16.9 %. This allocation comprises; equitable share of Ksh.370
The Counties Revenue impasse was finally resolved on 17 th September, after Senators
unanimously voted in support of the third basis formula for funds allocation after 10 failed
attempts. As part of what was passed, it was agreed that no county shall receive shareable
revenue less than what they received in the last financial year.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday washed his hands of the deadlock in the Senate over the formula for the sharing of funds amongst the counties.
